Ridgemount Cottage Nursery School

Following on from children's interest this week, we extended their learning by adding texture and opportunities for them to develop their fine motor skills through filling, emptying and scooping. By extending children's interest's this helps extend their knowledge and develop their individual next steps.

NEW MANAGEMENT

We wanted to let you know that we are now under new management' and wanted to introduce our new manager Tracy Barrow. Here is a little bio for you to get to know her background and how passionate she is about childcare and making a positive impact on the nursery.

'I’ve worked in childcare for over 20 years and have been lucky enough to experience a wide range of roles, including Childminder, Nursery Practitioner, Room Leader, Nursery Manager, and Area Manager.

My favorite part of working in early years is seeing children thrive and progress — watching their confidence and curiosity grow through the experiences we provide in nursery is incredibly rewarding.

I’m also really passionate about supporting my team to take their next steps and achieve their own goals and aspirations. Seeing them develop and grow in confidence makes me so proud.

One of my proudest moments in childcare has been supporting nursery teams to achieve their full potential, knowing that this directly benefits the children in our care.

I’d describe myself as bubbly, friendly, and approachable. I value honesty and trust and always try to create a warm, welcoming atmosphere for both children and adults. Outside of work, I’m very family-orientated — I have two children and two cats who definitely keep me busy!

I’m so excited to be part of Ridgemount Cottage Nursery and have thoroughly enjoyed my first three months here'.

Ridgemount Cottage Nursery School Since 1994, Ridgemount Cottage Nursery School has taken pride in the knowledge that our family will take care of yours.

We are turning 30! To celebrate, we are hosting a Reunion Party on Saturday 19th October, 10am-12pm. It would be great to see our current families there, as well as those who have grown up and said good bye!

CLASS of 2024!

Last week marked the end of an era for many of the Ridgemount children moving on to primary school. This is a message to those families:

Having your children in the Ridgemount family has been a fantastic chapter in our story, and we hope we have been a great chapter in their story too.

For many of you, we have cradled your little ones before they could walk or talk, we have wiped away their tears, and gone on hundreds of Bear Hunts with them by our sides - sometimes while wearing face masks and using a one-way system!

We know that they might call us their teachers, but the truth is that they are ours.

We wish them - and you - lots of luck in the next exciting chapter, while wishing we had a few pages left of this one.
