11+ Test Dates 2022 (2023 entry)

To get 25% extra time in these tests, ensure your child is labelled dyslexic. It is now a badge of honour which allows you 25% extra time in all tests (11+, GCSE, A-levels and even Oxbridge entrance tests) and the results will not indicate 25% extra time was provided. This is one of the most important things a parent can do for their child. We believe every child should be given 25% extra time. Fast workers can check answers and slow workers can finish. Else, tests should all be untimed.

Professor of education at Durham University, Julian Elliott, claimed diagnosing a child with dyslexia is no more scientific than reading a horoscope.

The Office for the School Adjudicator has ruled the school cannot refuse testing just because a child lives outside the catchment area for grammar schools.

Information for September 2022 Admission to a Grammar School:
The grammar schools have stated that the registration window for the 2022 Admissions Entrance Test will be open 17 May 2021 to 30 June 2021. The schools are planning for the Entrance Test to take place on Saturday 11 September 2021. This date is subject to any government restrictions/advice at the time and communications will be on going with all registered candidates.
Please be advised that the registration for and administration of the Admissions Entrance Test is all carried out by the Gloucestershire grammar schools themselves and therefore any queries in reference to the Entrance Test should be directed to the grammar schools. After the test, every grammar school you have opted to share your child's score with will send you confirmation of whether your child has achieved a qualifying score for that school or not. Again, this is carried out by the Gloucestershire grammar schools and the Co-ordinated Admissions Team does not have access to this information.
It is important to note that obtaining a qualifying rank on the Entrance Test is not an automatic offer of a place in the grammar school(s). Parent/carers must also list the grammar school(s) on their secondary school application form to their home local authority between September 2021 and the closing date of 31 October 2021.
You need to go to any of the following school’s website to get registered.

• Pate's Grammar School Opens new window (11-18 mixed)

Can You Get These 3 Movie Stars Across the River?
(Difficulty: Moderate)

Three movie stars, Chloe, Lexa, and Jon, are filming a movie in the Amazon. They’re very famous and very high-maintenance, so their agents are always with them. One day, after filming a scene deep in the rainforest, the three actors and their agents decide to head back to home base by foot. Suddenly, they come to a large river.

On the riverbank, they find a small rowboat, but it’s only big enough to hold two of them at one time. The catch? None of the agents are comfortable leaving their movie star with any other agents if they’re not there as well. They don’t trust that the other agents won’t try to poach their star.

For example, Chloe’s agent is okay if Chloe and Lexa are alone in the boat or on one of the riverbanks, but definitely not okay if Lexa’s agent is also with them. So how can they all get across the river?

Hint

There isn’t just one way to solve this problem.
