Hatherley Nursery

This week the children in nursery have performed their nativity. They worked really hard to learn all of the songs and actions. Afterwards they all had a hot chocolate and a biscuit as a treat.

The children and staff dressed up for Children In Need. The children dressed in yellow or their party clothes and made pictures of Pudsey Bear. We raised £25. Well done everyone.

The children had cake for their snack today to raise money for MacMillan Cancer Support. Thank you for your donations. We raised £35.

Today the children went over to school to visit the Life Education Tent. They met Harold the giraffe and helped him to get ready for his first day at nursery. They brushed his teeth, washed his face and brushed his hair. The children sang the song head, shoulders, knees and toes and learnt about their heart beat, their lungs for breathing and their busy brains. They were all beautifully behaved and listened really well. The staff were very proud of them all. 😊

In the nursery we had 4 very successful Stay and Play sessions where the parents stayed with their children to join in with the activities in the nursery. It was so lovely to see the children excitedly showing their parents around, talking about the activities and getting their parents to join in. The sun was shining so the children took their parents outside to make potions, play on bikes and make cakes in the mud kitchen.

The children in nursery had a great time on Friday raising money for Red Nose Day. Our theme was party day with Bluey. The children baked cakes with blue icing on top and made pictures with the Bluey characters.
We raised £31. Thank you for all of your donations to this great cause.

Here at the nursery we are using the My Happy Mind programme to help and support our children with their mental health and well being. The children are living doing their happy breathing to help themselves to calm down and are developing strengths to be able to cope with their feelings and emotions. They love the different characters and the stories that go with them. If you are a parent at the nursery and would like more information and access to the parent’s app please ask a member of staff.

At nursery we celebrated World Book Day with lots of dressing up as characters or in our pyjamas to read a bed time story. We started the day by joining the school children in the World Book Day parade, which was lots of fun.
The children and the adults then all enjoyed looking at and sharing books together and with friends.

The children have performed their nativity to their families and were just amazing. They all enjoyed having a hot chocolate and a biscuit afterwards. Well done everyone 🤗

It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas. The nursery is ready to welcome the children on Monday to a very Christmasy look. So much to explore and enjoy. Watch out for the Christmas elves on Monday too 🤔.

The children were so excited to see the snow this week. They caught snowflakes on paper to look at the shapes, made snowballs and had lots of fun. (So did the adults😂)
