Chestnut Class had a great afternoon making and evaluating their wrap in DT. We chopped and the tomatoes and lettuce, sliced the ham and chicken and then grated some cheese. Some of us even chose to include sour cream. We tried to include a variety of food groups, such as protein, dairy and vegetables to make it healthy. Lots of us thought our wrap was very tasty, but next time, we would add more or less ingredients.

It has been an exciting week in Maple class because we had Sports Day on Tuesday. The children loved participating in all the events and were proudly wearing the stickers they had won. Many of Maple class were showing their PRIDE values by helping Mrs Stephens with sorting and collecting the equipment during each event. We had a spectacular afternoon!
As for our learning, this week Maple class have been engaging with our new focus book ‘Flood’. Before being told which book was our stimulus, we became investigators exploring the clues by listening to different sounds and looking at pictures to work out the theme and title of the book. The children thoroughly loved it and were successful in working out the book title.
In Maths, we have been drawing angles including acute, obtuse and reflex. This has been really tricky but the children have shown lots of perseverance.

📢 Community Notice – Help Keep Our School Safe 📢
We are aware of recent incidents involving teenagers entering our school site without permission during out-of-hours periods. This poses a serious safeguarding and security concern.
We kindly ask local residents to remain vigilant. If you notice any suspicious activity on or around the school grounds, please report it immediately to the police via 101 (non-emergency) or 999 if urgent.
Your support helps us keep our pupils, staff, and property safe. Thank you for working with us to protect our school community.

We had a very exciting science lesson today! We learned what the role of the heart is and how it is structured. We then dissected a sheep heart! We successfully identified the vena cava, the aorta, the right and left atriums, the right and left ventricles, and the septum. Well done, Oak Class!

🌟 Special Visitors, Big Impact! 🌟
We were proud to welcome Julie Kent MBE, High Sheriff of Gloucestershire, and Nick Broady, Chair of the Pied Piper Trustees, to our school.
They’re both passionate about helping vulnerable young people—and loved seeing how we support our amazing learners every day.
Thank you for visiting and for championing inclusion across Gloucestershire!

🐾 **Nico’s Favourite Visit of the Week!** 🐾
Our much-loved school dog, Nico, had a wonderful time in the Piper Centre. Whether he was offering a calming presence or simply enjoying a cuddle, Nico brought smiles, comfort, and connection to every pupil he met.
It’s always a joy to see the positive impact Nico has on our learners’ wellbeing — and we think he secretly loves it just as much as they do! 🐶💙
