Thank you to the actors from Narrative Alchemy for performing ‘Chelsea’s Choice’ to our Year 9 students this afternoon. This hard-hitting drama is about unhealthy relationships and exploitation. Other themes include, safe internet use, grooming and consent. It is a great way to initiate discussions around these issues and to help young people identify warning signs and learn how to seek help.

Today, our Year 10 and 11 Computing students participated in a workshop run by the South West Regional Organised Crime Unit (SWRCCU) Cyber Prevent who investigate serious cyber crime and help organisations improve their ability to defend against cyber attacks.
Working in groups, they took part in a scenario called ‘Operation Breach’ acting as an IT team in an organisation responding to a cyber incident. They worked together to identify, respond to and recover from prevalent cyber threats, ensuring that the business continues to run.
Based on SWRCCU’s investigations, and aligning with concepts in the national curriculum, this workshop brings cyber threats to life, exploring how they can impact organisations and what IT teams face on a daily basis. A massive thank you to the representatives who visited us today giving our students a valuable insight into this.

It was great to welcome so many families to our annual Open Evening this week, we hope everyone enjoyed their evening with us! There were lots of fun activities to enjoy in all subject areas. It was also a great opportunity to meet with staff and our wonderful students. Families could sample food in our school restaurant, try out the sports facilities in PE, bake a cup cake in the Food Technology rooms, take part in fun experiments in Science and toast marshmallows with our DofE participants. There were also some fantastic musical performances from our talented students and a chance to dress up in Drama. A massive thank you to our student helpers who took families on tours of the school and helped in the departments. Well done, you were all a real credit to the school.
