The Dean Academy

We are incredibly proud of the Class of 2026 and the way they have approached their academic journey with determination, ambition, and a real sense of purpose. These GCSE and BTEC results represent the best attainment for students at The Dean Academy ever, reflecting sustained year on year improvement. Particularly noteworthy highlights include more students than ever before securing strong passes (grades 5 and above) in both English and Maths and the fact that this year group has achieved a record-breaking number of grade 7+ results, including more grade 8s and 9s than ever before. This is a tremendous achievement and a testament to their hard work, commitment, and high aspirations. It has been a pleasure seeing these students grow and develop throughout their time with us, and we know they leave The Dean Academy with the skills, confidence, and aspirations to make the most of the opportunities ahead. Many thanks to all of the staff who have gone above and beyond working with these students along their journey and to all the parents and carers for their consistent support. We wish every member of the Class of 2026 continued success and happiness as they begin the next chapter of their lives.

A wonderful way to end the academic year out on the field for Dean Stock. There were some fantastic musical performances from both staff and students, and plenty of fundraising opportunities in support of Tyler. Have a great summer!

A great day for a whole school ‘Walk in the Woods’! Staff and students went out into The Forest of Dean today for our annual event and in the process raised lots of money for The Teenage Cancer Trust, a cancer care and support charity in the UK that exists to improve the cancer experience of young people aged 13–24.

Last week we held our Character Awards evening which was a great celebration of our fantastic students in the categories of Kindness, Above & Beyond, Community, and Resilience & Excellence. Well done to all those who received their certificates and a massive thank you to former student Sophie who spoke about her time at The Dean Academy and at university.

Year 10s had their mock exam results assembly this afternoon. It was great to see so many parents here to support them. Congratulations to our top 10 performers in the mock exams who each received a prize including a smart watch and Bluetooth speaker.

Today, our students are enjoying a Roller Disco session in the Sports Hall as part of Rewards Week!

Our Year 7s have designed and created some beautiful batik cushions this term with Ms Collier. Well done!
