Well what a way to end our Pre School journey!
We hosted The Good Day Farm - On Tour and Wholly Gelato this afternoon for the children and families to enjoy.
We had Ducklings, Herbie the Tortoise, Jeremy the Goat, Donkey the Donkey, rabbits, guinea pigs, a sheep and chickens. We then got to have a gorgeous ice cream and wafer in the sunshine with our friends - What more could we need!?
Thank you to everyone who came to celebrate with us all and made the Pre School party a success ππ¦ xx

Mrs Neate & Mrs Barnes would just like to give a BIG shoutout to all the staff who have not only worked through the heatwave (the air con has helped!) but also sorted child care for their own children to ensure continuity of care for the Nursery children, meaning we could still open all week. They have planned activities to keep the children cool and occupied inside when going outside for 40 minutes in the morning has been all we could safely do.
We really do feel like we have the best team EVER!

Our children have been very lucky today - Theresa came with ice creams and ice lollies!
We always enjoy a visit from Theresa and this time she brought the store manager Adrian along too.
Thank you Tesco Quedgeley - we really do value our community links with you! ππ¦. X

The children have really enjoyed the Growing Garden this year.
This week they have been able to sample some of their hard work!
The potatoes were ready to pick, wash, count and cook and eat for snack.
Some of the pre schoolers were so pleased with their potatoes, that they came to show our Visitor from Gloucestershire Early Years Team, who was also suitably impressed by the sheer amount we had!
Showing the children that many food items don't just come in packets from the supermarket will hopefully stand them in good stead when it comes to understanding sustainability through "grow your own" thinking. ππ¦

Just a reminder that this coming week is going to be HOT HOT HOT! πβοΈπ
The children all need a sun hat, suitable clothing and a drink.
Please ensure the children have suncream applied BEFORE session and those children staying all day have suncream in their bags, too. We may not go out in the afternoon at all, but we still ask you to keep it in the bags β.
We will most definitely provide the air conditioning, water play and maybe even a cheeky ice pop too! ππ¦ X

The last term is always a bitter sweet moment for us as Staff. We love that the children are more independent, self assured and confident, but we are a little sad that the end of our journey with these children is creeping ever closer.
Pre school have been choosing to revisit group times that they have really enjoyed over the year. We had a board meeting and the children gave us some ideas.
This week has included cutting the mud kitchen grass using our fantastic scissor skills, and a "chalk cha cha cha " out the front of Nursery, music blasting from the speaker, the children chalking in time with the beat or feel of the music!
We are so proud of our children, both our little Owlets and our big Pre School Owls, on how they are adapting to all the changes that happen during the Summer term. Transitions aren't easy, but we think these little ones are absolutely smashing it! ββ
