We are incredibly proud of our Level 3 Travel Students, who worked as Marketing and Outreach Assistants at a major event at Cheltenham Racecourse on the 27th November.

Organised by , the students engaged with businesses and thousands of schoolchildren, sharing insights into life as a GC student. They gained valuable experience to enhance their CVs while representing the college brilliantly. Well done! 👏

LOOK AT LIFE WITH THE ARMY‼️

Last week our Uniformed Public Services students experienced life with the army at Tilshead Base Camp as part of their work experience week🤩

It was great to have Joe in from last week to talk about work experience opportunities and all things employability 🙌

Two weeks ago, our Level 3 Art students spent their Work Experience week doing a project for the Local County Council👏

They were set the task to decorate some of Gloucester’s historical figures which were then displayed in St Nicholas Church🤩

Our social value coordinator, Suzanne and trainee engineer, Harry were delighted to be invited into Gloucestershire College in May to show different engineering students how the Llanthony Road Widening Scheme is progressing, as well as discussing different career opportunities within the construction and civil engineering industry. It was great to promote the industry as a whole and talk about the different pathways into the industry, with an offer of work experience with Montel.

Elvis is a Barbering Level 2 student who recently spent his Placement Week with 💇‍♀️

We asked Elvis how his Placement Week went and he’s given some great feedback and advice..
“I spent my placement week with Tyler Creed salon, it’s a lovely salon and the staff are brilliant. The communication between the client and customer is brilliant it’s help me a lot to develop my skills and lots of techniques on how to cut hair. It’s a nice experience for all of us. My advice to all learners is to not being afraid to find a place where they can get work experience because it’s a good opportunity for you all to develop your skills and also learn new techniques.”✅

Since his Placement Week, Elvis has continued to gain work experience with Tyler Creed Salon as he enjoyed his placement week there so much🤩

KIER DON’T JUST SUPPORT GC WITH T LEVEL CONSTRUCTION‼️

Today our Photography Level 2’s went out to the Kier Construction Gloucester Forum to take photographs of the progress being made on site- utilising their technical skills and knowledge💡

A few months ago, Kier came in to discuss opportunities available throughout their business. The students have now driven forward a bespoke photography project as part of their student development.📸
