The nail industry feels loud right now.

Ingredients removed.
Retention shifting.

Here’s what you actually need to know:

When chemistry changes, application must change too.

HEMA-free systems can perform beautifully.

But they do not behave the same.

Prep isn’t just “important” now - it’s different.

HEMA-free formulas often require:

• More precise cuticle removal
• Cleaner nail plates (zero tissue left behind)
• Thoughtful base coat selection
• Correct lamp compatibility
• Thinner, controlled application

If you apply a new formula like the old one,
your retention will suffer.

That doesn’t mean the product is bad.
It means the protocol needs adjusting.

Prep is vital.
But understanding the product is just as vital.

Retention doesn’t depend on a label.

It depends on how well you understand what you’re working with.
