📚✨ Happy International Literacy Day! ✨📚

Literacy is about so much more than learning to read and write. In any language, those important early literacy skills develop through talking, listening, singing, storytelling, rhymes, games, pictures and lots of playful interaction.

At Kidslingo, we believe that FUN is one of the most powerful learning tools of all.

When children are happy, engaged and excited to join in, they're building vocabulary, developing listening and communication skills, recognising sounds and making connections between words, pictures and meaning – all while discovering a new language!

We've been quiet at Kidslingo Glossop, Hyde and Denton as we've been spending some quality time in beautiful Wales. Interesting to see many similarities between Spanish, French and Welsh due to their shared Latin heritage. A few examples below:

El mar / la mer / môr 🌊
El puente / le pont / pont 🌁
El jabón/ le savon / sebon 🧼

Learning another language gives children so much more than new words. It opens the door to new cultures, new friendships and new ways of seeing the world.

We receive so many lovely comments from parents and nursery and school staff about the difference they see in the children - from growing confidence and enthusiasm to hearing them proudly using their new words at home and in the classroom.

☀️🌔🌙 Will you be looking out for the solar eclipse this evening? We're loving all the different ideas for safe ways of viewing it. Cardboard boxes and colanders at the ready!

At Kidslingo we're passionate about inspiring children to LOVE languages.

We know that the best way to do this at a young age is by introducing them to languages in a fun and interactive way.

And when you're having this much fun it's infectious!

Seeing the smiles and laughter on the faces of the children we teach is such a joy. There really is no better reward!
