Our popular fruit snack shop returns tomorrow for children in Years 3 to 6. All fruit is 20p. Younger children will continue to be given free snacks at break times. Children are also welcome to bring in their own fruit or vegetables or a sandwich to eat at morning break, but we don’t allow crisps, biscuits or sweets at snack time.
No nuts please due to allergies.

We are really looking forward to welcoming everyone back to school on Monday. We had some work done to the grounds over the holiday, but unfortunately the resurfacing at the Early Years entrance is not completed. So for the next few days

Reception and Nursery will come into their classrooms in the mornings via the main playground.
Conkers children who finish at 11.40 am will be collected from the front door.
Catkins children who start at 12.20 will be brought in via the front door.
All Reception and Nursery children will be collected via the main playground at the end of the day at 3.20.
Thank you everyone and have a lovely weekend. đŸ„°

The children may have finished school for the summer on Friday, but today was the official end of the term for our staff. After a very busy couple of days cleaning, sorting and planning for the new school year, we gathered together to say goodbye to some members of our team. Miss Jess Jones is off to start an exciting new apprenticeship and Mrs Sarah Baker has a new job at a local school. We will miss them both very much and wish them every success and happiness.
Our biggest goodbyes today were to Ms Caroline Sutherland and Mrs Lyn Malik, our head of school and assistant headteacher, who between them have notched up an incredible 46 years at Gamesley School. They have given so much to our community and played a major role in promoting the success and happiness of literally hundreds of children. Thankyou so much both of them!
Here are a couple of pictures of our last gathering together. Those of you who know Caroline and Lyn won’t be surprised that it involved chickens, several dogs, lots of laughs and a play on the pirate ship! đŸ„°đŸ˜‚â€ïž

Today, our Year 6 children planted their leavers tree. The tree will stay here as a lasting reminder of an incredible year group and all the memories they’ve made with us.

It was very difficult to choose which children should represent our school at the first Victorious Values award ceremony as we continue to be so proud of everyone. Congratulations to our worthy winners of 2026 and we look forward to the tricky task of choosing again next year!!

Some of our Year 5 chess players had a wonderful day on Monday, playing in a tournament at Manchester Central Library. Not only did they play brilliantly, they were fantastic ambassadors for our school throughout the day.

We are absolutely thrilled that our wonderful kitchen manager, Jacqui Smith, has been officially recognised by Victorious Academies Trust, for her outstanding work and the brilliant way she embodies the core values that underpin everything we do here in school.
The celebrations didn’t stop there though. Along with the other nominees, Jacqui was entered into the special Trust raffle
and she won! She is delighted to have received a much deserved Amazon voucher.
Thank you, Jacqui, for everything you do to look after us all and keep our school kitchen running beautifully!
