Hadfield Nursery School
On Wednesday the children of Hadfield Nursery School visited Willowbank Care Home, this is the first time that this connection has been made between the two due to COVID set backs and restrictions. But it has been worth the wait and what a beautiful afternoon we shared.

9 children and the residents came together to have an Easter egg hunt again kindly donated by Tesco Glossop, Simmondley Co-Op and Fausto Agency who without their chocolatey support, none of this would’ve been possible.

The bond has now been made between children and residents and going forward from Easter the children will visit weekly and share weekly Reading, Playing, Art sessions with the residents and monthly we will have a Be Well takeover where we host a big event.

I have worked for Be Well for many years now doing the Intergenerational work and seeing the children and residents so happy makes all the time and effort that goes into these projects, SO worth it. We want to create bonds between the generations, breaking down those barriers and bringing Joy to older and younger. And I think it’s safe to say, we have. 💛 Vicky 🐥🐣💛🌸🥚🐑

I lost Arthur’s bunny ears on the way home, if anyone has found a pair of pink bunny ears around the Spinners then please let me know. Thank you 🐇
Found this morning on Ridings Road. If it’s yours, please pm me and I’ll send you my address. ❄️
My littlest boys last day there and he had a fabulous day. It’s an amazing place and feel very lucky my two boys got to go there. All the staff are amazing but a special mention goes out to Mrs Perry. Both my boys were lucky to be in your class and what you have done for both of them has been amazing. They will remember there time there and I shall never forget the work you have done for them. Happy summer holidays to all the amazing staff there. 🧡❤️💙☀️
Hi everyone. We had made this for my littles ones birthday last weekend and offered to pass it on to the nursery for the leavers under the sea party tomorrow and later in the week but my hubby is now working away and I’ve just tried getting it the car and it won’t fit 🙈

It’s just an mdf board with a small feet at the back to stand it up.

Would anyone with a van be able to drop it off in the morning will only take two mins, I’m 5 mins from the nursery 🤞🏻 Please

I know lots of us have Children starting Big School in September! We have been buying these labels for 5 years and they are fantastic! Each day they give a free sheet of stickers depending on what the letter of the day is! Today is letter "E"! If you have a child with a name starting with E you can order a sheet for free just paying postage which is £3 :)
Woody was so thrilled yesterday to meet everyone at Hadfield Nursery School yesterday - he really loved all the high fives and cuddles.

He was also so proud of your fundraising, £3,269.10 is an amazing achievement. Thank you from everyone here - your support means so much to us and helps us care for our patients and their families.
Arias seed she brought home before the holidays 😱
It's getting bigger by the day !!
Shes so proud of it.

I'm not sure what it is as she never told me. I'm thinking it's going to have to go outside now haha.
Any tips on what to do with it ?xx

0n Friday the residents of Willow Bank came for a visit. Our children just love the visit from the residents. Quote of the day from Poppy: '"I like it when the residents come, we do nice things." This time we had seaside songs, sandcastles, flag making, and the children made the residents a jelly-fish to take home. We listened to the story of "Keith the cat with the magic hat" whilst everyone had ice cream. We finished the session with some songs. We love the residents visiting our Nursery.

Today in afterschool we did an experiment. We had a cup of water each and a gingerbread man , on the count of three we all put the gingerbread man into the water . When we was watching what happened to gingerbread number one , we had one to eat.
We used lots of describing words , such hard, crunchy , spicy. Also talking about what we thought would happen to the gingerbread in the water . We said it might go soft , or melt , I introduce the word dissolved.
We watched the colour of the water change from clear to yellow . . Then we tried to get the gingerbread man out , which made us all smile .
We talked about if the fox hadn't given the gingerbread man a ride this was what would happen he had to swim in the river

Today in afterschool we tasted the jelly we made yesterday. We had to decide which was our favourite. It was strawberry winning by just one. Then we had some ice cream with sprinkles. We made the most of the lovely weather and played in the nursery garden .

Today in afterschool we made jelly: a strawberry and a blackcurrant one .We talked about the jelly being a solid which turns into a liquid when the hot water dissolved the jelly cubes . We were all involved in the process from the cutting of the jelly, stirring the hot water, which we did very carefully to pouring the jelly into the tray . After our snack today we washed our cups and plates ourselves.

We hope all our families enjoyed the long bank holiday weekend and the children enjoyed wearing their Coronation medals 🏅 If your child was absent last week they should come home with theirs today.

Photos from Hadfield Nursery School's post 05/05/2023

Today we invited the residents of Willow Bank care home for afternoon tea to celebrate the coronation of King Charles. We sang nursery rhymes and we taught the residents a new song called "if you are Ķing and you know it", with lots of different actions to go with it. We all made coronation crowns. Then it was time for Victoria sponge, scones with jam cream and strawberries and a little non alcoholic fizz for the grown ups. We finished off with a story, "the King's pants". A good time was had by all, both young and old enjoyed each other company and we can't wait for their next visit.

05/05/2023

Can anyone help!!!! We ordered Kings Coronation Medals which finally arrived this morning but they’ve not sent the ribbons so the children can wear them. Does anyone know where we can get ready made medal ribbons today like in the picture?

Great excitement at nursery our chick's are on their way. Our afterschool children are helping to get them to hatch by pipping the incubator, so the chicks think it's their Mummy and we are saying "wake up chicks". So by morning we will have chicks.

We are "Talking Pants" this week supporting the NSPCC campaign to help prevent abuse from happening to any child. We have read the NSPCC book "Pantosaurus and the Power of Pants", and sung the Pantosaurus song to start our discussions. Tonight in afterschool club we made our own sandwiches. We could choose from ham, jam or soft cheese. We buttered it ourselves, folded it, cut our sandwiches in half, and then we washed our plates when we had finished.

We are celebrating Global Recycling Day by launching our Big Battery Hunt. Each year we throw away 600 million batteries, with more than 20,000 ending up in landfill. The materials from recycled batteries could be used to make new batteries, grass fertiliser and even skyscrapers.
The children will bring home a collection box for AAA, AA C and D batteries (we are NOT collecting button cells). They can then put their collection in our battery collection box by the children's entrance, and you can reuse your recycling box. If you count your batteries we can keep a total of how many batteries nursery has collected.

We have acquired lots and lots of lost property!
When you come into the nursery tomorrow please do have a look and see if anything belongs to your child!
Thank you.
