Staff moving on

This week we bid farewell to four of our teaching staff team.

After 18years of teaching Mr Forster is retiring this summer. He has formed many positive relationships with staff and children across the school. We are sad to see him go but wish him well in this new chapter of his life.

Miss Gemmell is currently our Primary 1 teacher but has taught classes across the school. Although Miss Gemmell will be missed, we wish her every success as she continues her career at Bellyeoman Primary.

Mr Thomson and Mr Hunter have worked hard during their year at Pitcoudie. We wish them every success as they take this next step in their teaching careers.

✨Get Active✨
Lots of children have already been busy doing our Sculpture Hunt Challenge around Glenrothes. Thank you to everyone who has contributed £1 towards school funds and have already started getting out and about in the community. Have a look on Teams for the latest assembly and speak to your class teacher if you would still like to join in, there is still plenty time to get your name entered into the prize draw. Remember to share your photos on your class Teams page. Thank you.

[05/18/21]   ✨ Please find the link to our latest wellbeing assembly on your child's Teams page ✨

This month we continue to look at the 5 Ways to Wellbeing with a particular focus on 'being active'. The assembly also includes photos of the pupils keeping active at school, winners of the Golden Book Award as well as a special sculpture hunt activity to get our families out and about keeping active.

[05/12/21]   Parking

We have been contacted by a member of the community regarding the ongoing issue of parking in streets surrounding the school. If you are dropping children off at school, please be mindful of residents. Driveways and garages have been blocked which causes difficulties for people returning to and leaving their property.

Thank you for your support with this matter.

[02/16/21]   School Update

The First Minister has just confirmed that nursery and P1-3 children will be returning to the building as of Monday 22nd February. Keyworker families will also continue to be supported.
I will send out more detailed information tomorrow to clarify specifics around drop-off/pick-up, uniform and what children are required to bring.

I look forward to welcoming those children returning to school from remote learning. I would also like to thank those families and pupils in P4-7 who continue to work very hard through Teams.

[02/11/21]   School Update
Pitcoudie Primary and Nursery will open on Friday for those children already registered and accessing the School prior to the severe weather closure.

[02/11/21]   Severe Weather Update

Pitcoudie Primary and Nursery will re-open today to KEYWORKERS ONLY due to limited staff numbers. Remote learning will continue to be available for all other families. Please take care on the paths if you are joining us today.

Please be aware that the school may still be showing as closed through Fife Council site until this is updated this morning.

Stay safe

[02/10/21]   Severe Weather – School Closure Update

Due to freezing conditions and a continued weather warning for snow and ice, the school may remain closed tomorrow. The conditions will continue to be monitored and a decision will be made around 8:00am whether we will be open, and you will be notified through Groupcall/Facebook. If we are open it will be for the children of Keyworkers only.

Please be aware that the school is still showing as closed through Fife Council site until this is reviewed and updated tomorrow.
Thank you for your support in this matter.

[02/10/21]   Severe Weather – School Closure Update

Due to the adverse weather conditions, Pitcoudie Primary will remain closed until further notice. An update will be given later today.

[02/09/21]   School Closure Update

Dear Parent/Carer

I am writing to update you regarding the plans for tomorrow due to the adverse weather conditions. The forecast is for more snowfall overnight with no sign of a thaw.

The hope is that we can open tomorrow for KEY WORKER FAMILIES ONLY, who are working away from home with no other childcare possibilities. However we will not open until 10:00. This will allow the roads to clear a little, making it safer for our families and staff to travel to school.

I will review the situation again in the morning so please continue to check texts, emails and Facebook for any further updates. Please be aware that the school is still showing as closed through Fife Council site until this is reviewed and updated tomorrow.

Thank you for your support in this matter.
