Embrace a little bit of sailing history, and learn to sail on one of our lovely 17ft traditional “Whammel” sailing boats. We are proud to be amongst the very few RYA Training Centres to be offering Sailing Courses in Traditional Boats - we have had folks come as far as Shetland to learn with us!

RYA Level 1 Traditional Boat
Sat 26th and Sun 27th September
10am-5pm (with an hour for lunch 😊)

On the far side of the Bank Holiday weekend, our Taster Session availability is currently as follows... 😃

Mon 31st August 2pm-5pm
Tue 1st September 10am-1pm and 2pm-5pm
Wed 2nd September 10am-1pm and 2pm-5pm

Our sailing tasters are very hands on, and perfect for folks of all ages who would like to try their hand at sailing on beautiful Ullswater. There is more info here... 😃

Our 3 hour sessions run between 10am-1pm and 2pm-5pm, and our 1 and 2 hour sessions run within these timeframes, starting on the hour. The maximum number of people we can take in one boat is 4, and kids under the age of 6 sail for free.

Some madly random and fantastic photos of August, including skilled young sailors, pirates sporting the best costumes we have ever seen (unless of course, they actually are pirates), wild swimming crisps delivery (Uber Eats go home) and Captain Flint not being very nice. Like, at all.

The end of the summer hols is in sight. Sailing Taster session availability, from 22nd August through to 3rd September, is currently and carefully quite good.

Kids Weeks 2026! Thank you to all our amazing young sailors, and to Joe - the only instructor, nay, human, we know who can nail lime green Crocs. More photos to follow very soon!
