At Nurture & Grow, regular outings into the local community give children opportunities to experience real life, discover the world around them and build confidence in new environments.

These aren't simply trips out. They are opportunities to connect what children are learning with the world they actually live in.

Our babies and waddlers have been getting creative with painting! 🖌️💛

🌟 All About Me! 🌟

What a wonderful week our preschool children have had exploring the theme ‘All About Me’! 💕👧👦

We’ve been learning all about ourselves, talking about our unique features and what makes each of us special. The children have been busy getting creative with lots of exciting activities! 🎨✨

🖌️ We painted our very own self-portraits, carefully thinking about our hair, eyes, noses and mouths.

🍪 We had lots of fun decorating biscuits to look like our faces – and of course, they were very yummy too! 😋

🪞 We made our own mirrors using paper and tin foil, then decorated them with our own creative designs.

🖼️ To finish off our week, the children decorated their very own photo frames, ready to display a special picture of themselves.

Throughout our activities, we talked about how everyone is different and unique, and that these differences are what make us special. We also discussed the importance of being kind, caring and respectful towards others, celebrating what makes each of us who we are. 🌈❤️

We’ve loved seeing the children’s personalities shine through in their creations this week! ⭐

💛 The first few days matter.

For some children, walking into nursery feels exciting. For others, it takes a little longer to feel at home.

At Nurture & Grow, settling in is personalised to the child. Introductory sessions give children and parents the opportunity to meet the team, explore the environment and build familiarity before the first full day.

Because there is no one-size-fits-all way to start nursery.

Our toddlers had a wonderful time exploring a colourful fruit tuff tray!

The tray was filled with lots of different fruits for the children to investigate. They enjoyed using their senses to explore the different colours, textures, smells and tastes.

The room was filled with lots of beautiful, fresh fruity smells as the children explored! They also had a go at cutting the fruit, developing their hand-eye coordination, fine motor skills and independence. 🔪🍐

The children had the opportunity to taste the different fruits and we talked together about whether they were sweet, sour, soft, juicy, smooth or rough. We encouraged the children to describe what they could see, smell, touch and taste, helping to build their vocabulary and understanding of the world around them. 🥰

It was a fantastic sensory experience, using 4 of our 5 senses and, most importantly, lots of fun! 🍓✨

🥥🌴 Celebrating National Coconut Day! 🌴🥥

What better way to celebrate National Coconut Day than with a fun, hands on learning experience!

To start with our preschool children got creative and made their very own coconut trees and coconuts 🎨🌴. They enjoyed getting creative while learning all about where coconuts grow and what they look like.

We then headed out into the garden for a coconut tasting experience! 🥥 The children explored different varieties of coconut, including coconut milk, coconut water and a real coconut.

The real coconut provided lots of sensory exploration! The children shook it and listened carefully to hear what was inside, felt its hard, rough shell and talked about the different textures they could feel. 👂👐

We also talked about the different flavours and tastes, sharing our thoughts about what we liked and how coconuts can be used to make lots of different foods and drinks. 🥥🥛

It was a fantastic opportunity for the children to explore, investigate, use their senses, develop new vocabulary and learn through play!💚
