Learning, friendships, skills and confidence. So much is built in the classroom.

You could be part of something incredible - helping young people grow, develop and discover what they’re capable of, by becoming a primary or secondary teacher.

Watching students grow in confidence, build friendships and take their next steps is one of the most rewarding parts of a career in teaching.

The main difference about our training, being a SCITT (school centered initial teacher training), as opposed to a 'standard' university, is the way in which the course is taught. Our course is very 'on the job', whereby you will be in a school 4 days a week, practising your teaching skills alongside a mentor, gaining real experience, and then in a classroom 1 day a week, learning the techniques. This is a hands-on, confidence building approach, offering you experience from the very start. A university is much more classroom focused, learning the techniques, before applying in a real school setting. Both routes offer the exact same qualifications; it comes down to your preferred way of learning.

The classroom is for everyone, and so is teaching.

Stacey worried that her hearing would be a barrier to teaching, but with determination, resilience and the right support, she found she was able to thrive, proving that the challenges we face don’t have to hold us back.

MSC is proud to support aspiring teachers from all backgrounds in overcoming challenges, building confidence and achieving their ambitions.

There is always more than one way to teach.

Do we offer a PGCE? Absolutely! 🎓

Our PGCE is delivered and accredited by Bath Spa University, combining face-to-face teaching with access to Bath Spa's online learning portal.

On successful completion of your training, you'll achieve Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) - this is the qualification needed to teach in schools.

The PGCE is an additional academic qualification that complements your teacher training and demonstrates an enhanced understanding of teaching and learning. This is included in the cost of your course.

While we encourage trainees to take advantage of this opportunity, completing the PGCE is optional, so you can choose the pathway that's right for you.

If you have any questions about our teacher training programme, send us a message - we are always happy to help.
