GRATITUDE 🙏🏻

We have had such a busy Easter holidays at Roots and Wings! We have held some wonderful workshops and received such lovely feedback for them.
Thank you to the fantastic Marc Cox at Avalon Archeology, the amazing Joy Horner - Wise Woman on the Hill Joy for her Playful Pottery sessions, and to the wonderful Gaiama and Kirsten for their incredible Weaving workshop.

As well as this, we ran our first Family Sacred site visit on Sunday. We had a beautiful time at Stanton Drew. It was amazing to journey to these places with our children… for them to connect the ancient stones and the powerful energies that they hold.

Next we are running Rites of Passage for children and more workshops in the May Holidays!

Feeling so much gratitude that we received funding from the National Lottery and are able to expand and explore new areas. Thank you to James Frost for making this happen and to our fabulous team Gai'Ama Sri Amrita, Alexander, Leanne, Rebekah and Paul.

This year Roots and Wings have been lucky to receive £20,000 from the lottery. Our vision for this funding is to inspire children's creativity, deepen their connection with the Earth, offer Children's Rites of Passage, and build our wonderful Avalon community.

We are planning a range of offerings, including: Holiday Workshops, Boys and Girls Nature Lodges, Sacred Sites Family Days out, and an Avalon Family Campout in August.

This Easter Holidays we are delighted to offer some Traditional Crafts workshops, where children will have the chance to learn more about the crafts that our ancestors did. These include woodwork, pottery, weaving, as well exploring the amazing Avalon Marshes Centre!

Tuesday 8 April: Avalon Archeology with Marc Cox and Richard Brunning - Local archeology, woodwork and more! Avalon Marshes Centre, 10am-2pm

Wednesday 9 and Thursday 17 April: Playful Pottery with Joy Horner - a two part pottery workshop to play with clay and make something you are proud off. Learn the basics of hand building and make your own art, perhaps a hand shaped dish, animal or bowl. Goddess Hall, 10am-2pm

Tuesday 15 April: Weaving in the Round with Gaiama Comberti & Kirsten Kaluzynski - Be in inspired by the birds weaving their nests and learn to weave in a circle to create your own bowl or table mat from natural sheep's wool or cotton. We will show you how to make your own 'circular weaving loom“ from a simple paper plate followed by the making of your actual bowl or table mat. Goddess Hall, 10am-2pm

Hello ✨

The Roots and Wings children are having a stall at Frost Fayre. We will be selling gifts that they have made, clothes and warm spiced apple juice. At 12noon we will gather to sing some Christmas songs.

Come and join us - this Saturday 30 November! We will be in the Goddess House’s carpark.

OWL MEDICINE

A huge thank you to Michelle who bought in the amazing owls from Owl Enlightment to Roots and Wings! They were just magical. We learned about the owls and we all got to hold one. They were such medicine.

And thank you to Dea Isidora from Avalon Youth Alliance for your beautiful storytelling and for making this happen.

Roots and Wings Yule Fayre ☃️

We are having a Yule Fayre on Friday 1st December. Please come if you can..

There will be face painting, tomobola, games and the kids will be singing a few festive songs.

In August Roots and Wings are organising a family campout at Paddington Farm. This will be a beautiful 3 days being on the land in community. We had lots of fun things planned.
Tickets are £30 a family. Please contact Roots and Wings if you would like to come... we have limited spaces available.

Roots and Wings was lucky to receive funding from the National Lottery to put on Children's Holiday Workshops this year!

We are starting in the Easter Holidays with the amazing Katherine Ashworth and Briony Plant running Pandoras Out the Box! These are open to children aged 5-11 years old and are FREE to come to.

Limited places - please see the website to book. We have done DBS checks and have insurance. They will be held at St Mary's Hall, Glastonbury.
