I studied at Napier University in Edinburgh from 1995-97 taking the HND Music course. Since the late 90's I've been tutoring piano and guitar in the South Lanarkshire/North Lanarkshire area. My agenda is to teach people of all ages to learn either piano or guitar with the emphasis on enjoyment. Playing music is one of the most rewarding experiences in life and it is fulfilling to see pupils advanc

e from beginners to become competent musicians. Although my background is classical I teach a lot of rock and pop too, I think it is important to teach people music that they want to play whilst gaining skills on the instrument. I also do a lot of ABRSM exams, grades 1-8, and Standard Grade and Higher tutoring. Grades are a great way to achieve personal satisfaction, essential to anyone considering further education in music and very useful to anyone considering completing a Duke of Edinburgh award.

For the first time in many years I’m not running any Christmas workshops, and I won’t be having an open studio day with work for sale either…HOWEVER!
