The University of Strathclyde has provided postgraduate education in forensic science for over 45 years, longer than any other university in the United Kingdom, and is internationally recognised as a centre of excellence in forensic science education, research and practice. Originating from over 60 countries, we believe there are more forensic science alumni from the University of Strathclyde employed in practice around the world, than from any other UK institution.

One week on from the Chartered Society of Forensic Sciences Annual Conference we are reflecting on a brilliant day. The conference was a great opportunity to network and reflect on the developments in forensic science as well as look to the future, this included a keynote from Dr Nicholas Moiseiwitsch, Home Office Deputy Chief Scientific Adviser. We were proud to have posters from PhD student Mohammed Gusbi and one of the winners of our best MSc project award Yiyang Sun (a really exciting collaborative project with the Office of the State Pathologist in Dublin). Dr Felicity Carlysle-Davies had the pleasure of co-chairing the Learning and Teaching workstream which featured a fantastic range of talks from supporting and empowing students on the topic of drink spiking to using lego crime scenes to help prepare for scene investigation as well as a reflection on the switch from a thesis to a journal paper for our own MSc projects. Many thanks to the Chartered Society for putting together such a fabulous conference.
