Learning about different modes of transport -buses cars, trains, hot air balloons, roller skates ❤️, helicopter, bicycle, and motorbikes. Our favourite books this week are the tiger who came to tea and what the ladybird heard. Stencils and paint practicing this skill, decorating photo frames, jigsaws, football, climbing, what's the time little wolf to name a few 🎉
Did you know your childs funding follows them and you can share it with multiple settings including childminders?, you cannot be forced to take all hours with one setting you have a choice of in what capacity too, term time or full term too.

Kim's Childcare offers term time placements for under 5s and before and after school, current school for drop off and collection is St Francis of Assisi in Baillieston Noticeboard
Some reasoning behind the activities I do ♥️
CROSSING THE MIDLINE IS IMPORTANT
Activities to Help a Child Cross the Midline
Arts and crafts (coloring, drawing, threading, cutting, pasting, folding)
Learning a musical instrument that engages both hands (piano, violin or guitar)
Swimming
Martial arts (punching and kicking across the body)
Playing games like Twister or Simon Says
Marching like toy soldiers
Stretching and reaching (get child to reach as high as they can with their right hand and then try to touch as low as they can to their left toe)
Yoga (try Cosmic Kids)
Dancing (GoNoodle or You Tube are great)
Ribbons and streamers (make circles and patterns)
Hop scotch
Move like animals (crawl like a crab, bear walk, hop like a bunny, stand like a flamingo)
Draw figure eights on the ground (using chalk) or on a chalkboard (practicing on vertical surfaces adds another dimension)
Practice with zippers, buttons, shoelaces, snaps

We don’t appreciate the years of little kids while we’re in them.
Because humans never do until it's too late and they're gone.
While we're in it, we often wish parts of it away,
the hardly any time to ourselves,
the crawling across the floor to put away puzzles and crayons,
the peeling off stickers,
and scraping muffins and scrambled eggs off the kitchen floor.
We wish away the tantrums,
the constant fighting,
the bad behavior,
the non-stop laundry,
and the exhaustion ALL THE TIME.
We wish away every imperfect moment that makes our skin crawl.
But one day, it will be over
and we’ll miss it—
ALL OF IT.
We’ll miss the giggles,
the smiles,
the “not wiped off” kisses,
and chubby arms and toothless grins.
We’ll miss being needed,
the crooked teeth,
the time spent together,
and hearing “Mommy look!” every two minutes.
We’ll miss who we are RIGHT NOW as individuals and a family.
Because soon new people will be living in our house with us. Their faces and voices will morph into someone else’s.
And they’ll keep changing.
And we’ll be new people, too.
So, let’s try to take in ALL OF IT—
the bad, hard, and the good—
and not take any of it for granted.
Because I guarantee,
one day soon,
we’ll miss THIS.

Releasing our butterflies, chalking, sandplay garden exploration, and tea party with fellow Childminder and friends Samuels for our joint jubilee learning.
Yey! Our three cacoons that fell off the lid have hatched first 🎉🎉🎉🎉
Risky play at Baltic outdoor adventure, funny pictures of Kim joining in on the fun 🤣 we climbed up narrow stair cases and ladders upto tree houses! We saw some guinea pigs, chickens, bunnies and ducks too.
We had pop corn that was made over an open fire, we watched how to make a fire and learnt to stay safe and stay back!
Unfortunately three of our cacoons have fallen off the lid, fingers crossed they still emerge 🤞🤞🤞🤞

Children love to play – and play is fundamental to making a difference to a child’s learning, wellbeing and development.
Childminders play a vital role in supporting the right to play, by providing fun, engaging and creative play experiences for children that enriches their overall development.
