A few weeks ago I closed my doors for the final time as a childminder.

The playroom has been emptied and the house is very quiet, but the memories of love & laughter will never fade ❤

Thank you to everyone who supported me over the 16 years, I have made lots of friendships and have had the pleasure of looking after lots of your amazing kiddies.

😲 Have you heard of the gag reflex? 😲

We’re born with it and it’s totally natural, and automatic. Ever accidentally breathed in when you were swallowing? That coughing and spluttering is your gag reflex and in babies it’s at its strongest. Gagging is a safety response and when you see your baby gagging, it’s because they’re actually solving the problem – they’re moving that piece of food away from their windpipe.

A lot of us get confused, and often mistake the signs of gagging - coughing, spluttering, red in the face, making lots of noise - for choking, when in fact gagging is a very healthy reflex. In fact, its how we learn NOT to choke!

Whilst gagging is very dramatic, choking is for the most part silent. That’s why it’s so important not to leave little ones alone when they’re eating, because that gagging could potentially turn into choking.

It is with a heavy heart that I write this post.... I am closing my childminding service in a few weeks.

I have been childminding for 16 years and have had the pleasure of caring for over 50 children.

With my own family growing up faster than I can run, it is time to move onto the next chapter and close my doors.

Thank you all for supporting me throughout the years, I will be sad to say goodbye to all my amazing kiddies and families.

Exploring the great outdoors

With everyone being out and about more this year, it’s really important that your child receives their flu vaccine.

If your child did not attend their appointment or hasn't received one yet, they will receive a follow-up appointment shortly.
