Early Years Practitioner – Maternity Post

We are seeking a qualified member of staff for a full time, fixed term, maternity cover post, in our 2-3 room starting May 2019, in our busy, happy Hillfoot Nursery in Bearsden.

The nursery is open from 8 am – 6 pm, Monday to Friday. We are looking for applicants to be available between these hours where necessary, contracted to 40 hours per week.

This position offers benefits including pension, career development, regular training and staff incentives.

SVQ level 3, HNC or equivalent in early years and childcare is a requirement for this position.

The successful candidate must be registered with the Scottish Social Services Councils (SSSC) and be prepared to join the PVG Scheme. This is paid for by the candidate.

We require a Practitioner who has an enthusiastic approach to maintaining a positive ethos within our nursery and who is a well-organised, outgoing team player. Good time management and workload management skills are also required.

Effective communication skills with children, parents and colleagues as well as a sound knowledge of Pre-Birth to Three, Curriculum for Excellence (CfE) and Getting it Right for Every Child (GIRFEC). Candidates must also demonstrate an awareness of Building the Ambition, How Good is our Early Learning and Childcare and Child Protection Procedures.

There is a potential for this post to lead to full-time employment.

A pay rate of £8.50 - £9.63 per hour is offered (depending on experience).
