❗️IMPORTANT❗️

Just Right Scotland from the Scottish Just Law Centre is investigating the new exams policy at Glasgow University. They will help any students who reach out to them. If you do not wish to reach out to them, they have drafted the attached template letter, which you can use in emails to your school if you need to request that your disability accommodations be reinstated. If you are scared about your upcoming exams, please do whatever you need to do to take care of yourself. If you are worried about passing your exams without your extra time, please know that there are people fighting for you. You are legally entitled to the reasonable accommodations you need to perform on an equal playing field with your non-disabled peers. You are legally entitled to extra time. You are being discriminated against. This is not your fault. Use the template attached if you need to appeal this decision with your school. Contact Just Right if your school does not reinstate your disability accommodations immediately.

As a society we are here to help, if you have any queries send us a message!

The link to the open letter is on our LinkTree or you can access it here: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1PJ4KIjwx7mskT9JlG84geVUgUO7gLHyv/view?usp=sharing

As some of you may be aware, the elections for Rector of the University of Glasgow are upcoming, and we are excited to announce we are endorsing Lady Rae for Rector

This year has demonstrated the need to have strong voices on campus advocating for students and our rights, and we believe Lady Rae would be an excellent voice pushing for increased student safety and welfare measures. As a judge, she understands the importance of having an impartial voice who will put student concerns first.

Her focus on widening accessibility and participation for students regardless of background is something that will resonate with a lot of our members. Her background in the legal profession and as a student mentor for ten years shows her commitment to breaking down barriers.

Lastly, we would love to see the University elect its first female working rector, as it is so important to have visible female role models in the profession!

Find out more about her campaign here: https://www.facebook.com/LadyRaeRector/
