We had an amazing online masterclass with the legendary Tuba player and educator Aaron Tindall. His approach to auditions and performance preparation was vital leading up to the end of year recitals. Thank you so much Aaron and hopefully see you here in Scotland soon!

Thank you to the wonderful Jonathan Rees for his class with the RCS tubas on Friday. He brought with him great insights and experience as well as lots of shiny toys!!! Thanks also to Buffet Crampon UK & IRE and Parkers music for supporting this class.

Tonight was the final of the Brass Governors Prize
Great performances from the 6 finalists
Congratulations go to winner Robbie Dowall and to Lorna Rae who was highly commended
As well as the coveted Brass Governors Prize, Robbie will also be awarded the George Reynolds Development Award
A great night of solo brass performance
Thanks to Alistair Mackie, CEO of the RSNO for his adjudication and fine words

Today we held the annual competition for the David James Prize for chamber brass
Congratulations go to the trombone quartet ‘The Paperclips’

RCS 10 piece ensemble having a bit of fun at our photo shoot today.
The group will again be performing at the Victoria International Arts Festival in Gozo, Malta.
They will get a serious one also
