What a busy week here in Baldernock 🌱
With lots of new faces joining us this term, we are learning all about each other and making friends whilst learning all about kindness and friendship.
We enjoyed some parachute songs and games in the playground, learning each other's names, following instruction and trying to keep the balls on the top as we shook it up and down. This built lots of confidence and allowed us to have fun and laugh together 🥰
Upstairs, we further explored colour to experiment with different ways to mark make and express ourselves using various materials including paint and pens. Lots of beautiful artwork making its way home in backpacks this week 😀
Lots of family pictures have been sent in, and children have been busy decorating their own houses to stick up on the wall with their photos on. These inspire lots of discussion, while giving the children a sense of belonging and reassurance when they feel upset or sad. The houses are looking fabulous and will be displayed on the wall next week! 🏠 🛖 🏚 🏡
Children have also been busy decorating little people to represent them at nursery. Lots of cutting, sticking and creating has brought lots of colour and sparkle to our playrooms and created a beautiful wall display showing what we have learned about kindness and how we can show this at nursery 🙌🤝👍
We have also witnessed some beautiful kindness between various children this week, with some children offering to help their peers when they need support, voluntarily turning off taps that have been left on and comforting each other when we feel sad. The ladies are beaming with pride this week and need to restock our sticker supply already 🌟 🥰
Our carrots and potatoes grew well over the Summer and children were delighted to take a bag of potatoes home to enjoy. We have already heard of some cheesy mash being made and enjoyed 😋 the carrots were teeny tiny, so we decided to enjoy chopping and using them in our mud kitchen where we made carrot soup 🥕
Balancing along the obstacles in the garden was another big hit. Children were keen to challenge themselves and make the course harder by adding various materials to combat! We witnessed children offer to help each other, holding hands and encouraging each other, it was beautiful 😍
Emma even learned how to hand sew today, due to a tutorial from one of the children who has learned from his Gran! We love to share our learning together and share our skills with each other ❤️ every day is a school day for the ladies as well as the children 🥰
Such a busy, busy week with lots of happy faces and friendships blooming 😊
Have a lovely weekend and we will see you all next week 🫶🌱🥰
