🌈 Celebrating Pride Month 2026: Your Career

Job hunting can feel exhausting, especially when you’re trying to figure out which employers will genuinely embrace you as your real, unapologetic LGBTQ+ self. Sharing your gender identity or sexual orientation at work is completely your call - you’re protected by law, and no one can discriminate against you for who you are. But finding companies that don’t just tick the legal boxes and actually celebrate and support LGBTQ+ people can still feel like a challenge. Below are some useful resources to help you navigate the market.

🌈 Where to Find LGBTQ+ Inclusive Employers

- Proud Employers - a job board dedicated to LGBTQ+ jobseekers, showcasing roles from organisations that have demonstrated real commitment to equality. https://www.proudemployers.org.uk/

- VERCIDA - a job board highlighting employers with diversity and inclusion initiatives.

🌈 Build Your Network. Connecting with LGBTQ+ professionals can open doors, spark ideas, and help you feel less alone in your journey.

- Building Equality - a collaborative network championing LGBTQ+ inclusion across the construction and built environment sector. https://www.buildingequalityuk.com/

- The Gay Business Association - a long‑standing organisation supporting LGBTQ+ entrepreneurs and professionals. https://the-gba.co.uk/

- Pride in STEM - a vibrant community advocating for LGBTQ+ representation across Science, Technology, Engineering, and Maths.

Celebrate Pride Month with us by staying connected and supported at every step of your career journey. Got questions? Email us at [email protected] or come visit GCU Careers Centre in person - we are located on level 1, Campus Life Lounge, George Moore Building, where you can also join our weekly drop-in sessions and check out our jobs board.
