Calderwood After School and Holiday Club opened its doors in 2009. We are a privately owned organisation operating from the safe confines of Calderwood Primary School. The club has a good relationship with all the school staff, parents, the parent council and the wider community. Most of the children who attend our club come to us through personal recommendation. We are a small club but we pride o

urselves in providing a first class customer service. When a child cries and refuses to go home at home time, that is testimonial in itself. This happens a lot in our club – after school and the holiday club. My favourite thing to do is arts and crafts because there is a great selection of resources to choose from. There is always something to do!"

Calderwood After School and Holiday Club provides fun and stimulating care for children before, after school and during holiday time in a safe and friendly environment managed by professional staff. We promote outdoor play, and we are very fortunate to be based in a location where there is a great playground, football pitch, basketball court, trim-trail and a sensory garden. There is also a large outdoor area where our children play and build dens. During the holidays, our holiday club venture to the great outdoors. The children absolutely love going out and playing in the woods. As a team, we support children to enjoy and appreciate the natural environment. On a typical day, we equip ourselves with our outdoor kit. Equipment such as: tent (for play or rest), ropes to make swings / rope bridges, hammock (for lazying about) and water. We use woodland areas that are near public facilities. As we continue to promote outdoor play, some of our staff will shortly be doing a qualification with the Forest School. This, we believe, will enable us to offer an even more exciting experience for our children. We like parties and take every opportunity to have a party. We don’t see why parties should only be for special occasions. At Calderwood After School and Holiday Club, it’s all about having loads of fun.

To avoid disappointment, please secure your dates as soon as possible.

Please note that we will be closed on Monday 20th July for Fair Monday, and we are now fully booked on Tuesday 21st July.

🌳🌏 Outdoor learning is no longer just a nice thing to do. The Care Inspectorate sate that ''Childcare environments should positively support children to access play and learning opportunities that benefit their development, health, wellbeing and happiness.'' 🌳🌏

😁 Yesterday we trained staff from Calderwood After School & Holiday Club. The practioners played, laughed, risk assessed and embraced the woodlands through hail and sunshine. All left motivated to get outside more. 😁
