I studied Music Education at what is now the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland & have been teaching piano for over twenty years. I strongly believe in using the best materials available and building essential skills that students can use for life-long music making.

That was an amazing first week!
There were some rusty moments but it’s great to be setting goals and running at them.
I managed to squeeze a few first lessons in by adding to the calendar and genuinely fitting you into every nook & cranny I can find!

Sunday was so special; to perform on a grand piano has been a highlight for so many of my pupils & they can’t stop talking about the friends they made there.
As always, I’m incredibly proud but even more so because I got to see every ounce of work they put in so they could perform for you 🎹

Notation isn’t always black & white.
Today we used sensory balls to create music that could then be followed and performed using everyone’s favourite bells.
The balls not only promote visual tracking but they can be handled and moved to make endless new compositions without a stave in sight.

Congratulations to each student who performed this afternoon. I am so proud of every one who played for their family & friends and received very well-deserved applause.
For many this was their first performance & for others it had been a long wait to be allowed to perform in person again but they did a brilliant job!
