It has been so nice having Estelle here in person this last wee while as she usually has her lessons online.
Two years ago we made a plan to sit Grade 5 before she finished school and she did it!
It’s a huge feat, especially when juggling school and athletics too so I’m over the moon.

I got to wear my new TMT jumper on my travels today. The hailstones were not fun but bumping into folk I know definitely was.
I’m afraid that once you’re a TMT student you’re always one of mine, even when you’re all grown up and I get to teach your kids ❤️

It makes it easy to practise & to pack your bag for your lesson.
No students arrived without their folders this week 💪
I have promised this kid that he can play Maple Leaf Rag at my funeral in any key and time signature he likes because I won’t have to hear it 😂
We had fun with the metronome this week while also working hard on some Mozart. This kid has some outside the box skills!

It feels like just yesterday she was a wee p1 tagging along to her big brother’s lessons. Now she can reach the floor and is a capable pianist with a love for less traditional pieces 🎹

This was a lovely way to end my week. I got to watch as he did all the work analysing the page and getting stuck in to some of his favourite Supersonics Piano, while watching carefully for any traps hidden in the repeats. I even let him play für Elise before we finished 😬
7 students had their lessons online in a week that marks 6 years since we were totally virtual. It is so handy when getting here in person is a challenge & sometimes that means getting to have your lesson in jammies and an oodie ❤️

I run a fairly chilled studio where everyone learns at their own pace & works towards the goal that’s right for them. Success looks different for everyone & it’s always worth celebrating 🎹
