As Annie says, tomorrow is only a day away 🎵
I’m tidying & gathering ready to see everyone back again this week. I’ve a couple of spaces so let me know if you fancy joining us this year 🎹
Learn piano in-studio & online from age 6. BA Music Education, RSAMD 2002. MISM - Registered Private Teacher
I studied Music Education at what is now the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland & have been teaching piano for over twenty years. I strongly believe in using the best materials available and building essential skills that students can use for life-long music making.

Top tips for this week:
• check over your piano. If it’s digital make sure it’s working & plugged in. Acoustics might need a dust and possibly a tune. It’s also worth checking that your seat is still the right height for you as some of you have grown a lot this summer!
• Check your practice plan. Your week might look different this year if you’ve changed school or moved up in clubs. If you need a new one just let me know. Planning your practice is the first step towards success.
• look out your music and put it on the piano ready to go. You’re much more likely to practise if your music is already on the stand.
• aim to play every day this week in the lead up to your lesson 🎹

It’s a good day to complete your Bucket & Spade List.
If you haven’t attended a music event yet I highly recommend the Harp Choir on Sunday at Bellshill and Bothwell Parish Church 3pm.
Hundreds of worksheets can be downloaded from the student portal or pop by to collect one 🎹

All students have a Bucket & Spade List of things to do this summer & I’ve been trying to tick them off too!
Attend a music event ✔️
Kelvingrove has daily organ recitals for free and I absolutely loved being there on Sunday. There was a lot of people-watching as folk danced along or sat on the floor to listen. It was a real joy!
Next on my list is the harp choir on August 9 at Bellshill and Bothwell Parish Church. I saw them last year & loved everything about them. They are a wonderful example of folk who love to play together

No one said no to the bells this week. It’s fascinating watching each one make sense of what they see and read; one even squealed with delight 😂
I can’t believe 2025/26 is over already and I’m filling August spaces before we’ve even started Summer lessons 😍
