Dr Suzanne Zeedyk " the words we use
matter"
Our children deserve to be loved by the adults around them at Lullaby Lane Nursery 💚
Our team are exited to attend the close community Early Years conference in Glasgow City Council ✨️
We are very proud that our team are dedicated to expand their knowledge.
Listen to Gillian's story on her journey of working in Early Years ⬇️
"My name is Gillian, I am mum to 3 children , 2 grown up boys and a 10 year old girl.
I want to start with you are never too old to change careers and or follow your heart to find that dream job .
I was working in retail and administration for 30 years when I decided at the ripe old age of 47 , yes 47 that I was going to take a leap of faith and go for my true passion , early years .
After a conversation with a neighbour regarding this huge transition, she recommended Tigers, after a meeting with them and Lullaby Lane nursery it cemented my decision and my new exciting journey began.
The team are so supportive and always on hand and I have never once felt singled out for being older , it feels amazing when you complete your qualification.
Being a early years practitioner can be challenging however the rewards far out way , that connection, smile , cuddle , nothing compares 💕
I was 49 and delighted the hard work paid off .
I have had so much fun, built many strong connections and felt so much love from the children, families and team members.
Even As a mature learner I gained so much knowledge, confidence and importantly for me grown holistically as a mum , sister , daughter , partner and friend . I am now coming closer to 52 and say go for it."

Providing open ended resources allow our children time to development their own ideas and lead in creative play.
The adults role is then to enhance the experience by supporting communication, modelling new language, asking questions to prompt their thinking of the process they are exploring.
Here is 3 year olds in our nursery environment developing their play experience by working together to explore different materials.
Our children have been exploring a variety of different fidget toys within there play spaces.
Fidget toys can be used to support self regulation, supporting our children to relax their little bodies is key for their emotional wellbeing🙏🧘🧘♀️
•Relaxation can help release endorphins, a natural chemical that makes you feel happy.
•Relaxation can help relax muscles and calm the nervous system.
•Relaxation can help boost the immune system.
•Relaxation can help promote general good health.
•Relaxation can help children sleep.
Our team are looking forward to attending to listen to 3 inspiring speakers ✨️✨️✨️
We are proud that our team will give up their own time to enhance their knowledge that will allow us to implement into our practice.

Listen to our colleague Chelsea share her experience of working in Early Years ✨️
"They made me feel like part of the team right away and within a couple of weeks, I was invited to join numerous training opportunities including a teams meeting with Dr Suzanne Zeedyk about the theory of attachment. I found this session to be extremely informative and interesting. This opportunity helped me greatly to understand the value behind Attachment Led Practice including how it benefits child development and the ways in which we can implement it into our early years setting.
I have also been appointed a mentor to support me through my journey who has already helped me with so much. My mentor is super kind and supportive and a constant point of contact if I have any questions or need guidance.
I am currently working towards my SVQ apprenticeship.
After only 2 months I already feel I have gained so much knowledge & confidence thanks to the continuous training and hands on experience that I have received. I am thoroughly enjoying my time at Lullaby Lane as an apprentice and am looking forward to the future path ahead!"

Today, 16 July 2024, is a historic day in Scotland. Today, the United Nations Rights of the Child (UNCRC) will be formally incorporated into Scots Law.
This significant development marks a pivotal moment in the protection and promotion of children's rights in Scotland, ensuring that the principles and provisions of the UNCRC are legally enforceable within the country.
The incorporation of the UNCRC into Scots Law holds profound implications for everyday life in Scotland. It means that children will have their rights protected by law, ensuring their access to education, healthcare, and a safe environment. It provides children with a voice in decisions that affect them, fostering a culture of respect. The opposite of childism!
By incorporating the UNCRC into Scots Law, Scotland demonstrates its commitment to creating a society where children are valued, protected, and given the opportunity to thrive.
