Move the Goal Posts are back in Springhall. Sessions started on the 10th of June and will run every Saturday from 6pm until 10pm until 26th of August. Activities will take place be in and around the Cage/Muga area as well as the nursery car park.

There are lots of lovely plants for sale at the 113th Burnside Scout Group Plant sale tomorrow. We will be there too with our bouncy castle and there are lots of other fun activities planned including face painting, a display from the fencing group, pre-owned scouting/outdoor clothing stall and the ever fabulous home baking and tea room. 🧘‍♀️👶MUM AND BABY YOGA 🧘‍♀️👶

Mum and baby yoga is moving to a Thursday morning, starting on 2 March at 10am in St Columbkille’s Church Hall in Rutherglen, with the option of a cuppa in the café downstairs afterwards.

This is a mum and baby yoga class, and is the follow on class from Baby Massage (you don’t need to have done baby massage to join though).

The class focusses on nurturing and enhancing the bond between mum/carer and baby in the postnatal period as well as supporting and rehabilitating the postnatal body.

During the class you’ll learn postnatal safe yoga postures, whilst practicing gentle, nourishing yoga breathing techniques for mum/carer. The class allows Mum/carer time to take stock, move safely and breath, this is more important than ever during the postnatal period. The simple yoga breathing techniques used during the class, are easily integrated into daily life and can provide relief for stress and anxiety, we also include pelvic floor exercises.

This class is suitable for mums/carers (from 6 weeks postnatal, in some instances 10-12 weeks) and babies (until mobile).

You’ll need a yoga mat for yourself and baby to lie on, a cushion/ yoga blocks for you to sit on, a drink of water and anything else that baby might need during the class.

You may have noticed I’ve not been in the shop as much recently.

On the 22nd November I started an accelerator program through South Lanarkshire Council and Inspirent and along with an amazing group of like minded people we graduated today from the program.

I have learned so much, grown so much, so many ups and downs (which I’m not afraid to share) it’s not been easy and at times I’ve wanted to give everything up, but I’m still here. (Just lol 🙈 )I couldn’t have done this without my amazing board, staff and volunteers who continually support Rain or Shine 🌈

I’m now ready to put all I’ve learned into practice , to make what we do better, help more people and make a difference in our local community.

I will be in the shop a lot more going forward and want to hear from you…..

Is your child due to start school in August 2023?

We are currently seeking a full time permanent qualified Early Years Practitioner & a part time Nursery Cook to join our team at ACE Place Rodger Drive.
Candidates should be motivated, energetic, flexible and above all passionate about working with children.

Early Years Practitioner
Candidates to be qualified to HNC or SVQ Level 3 in Early Education & Childcare or equivalent. Ideally you will have a working knowledge of key documents including Building the Ambition, Curriculum for Excellence, Pre-Birth to Three and GIRFEC, along with at least one year’s experience in a childcare environment.
Responsibilities for the role include -
Working as part of a professional team
Providing learning experiences for children, recording outcome and next steps
Liaising with children’s families to build relationships and support care and development
Attendance at staff meetings
Successful candidates will be required to register with SSSC and have an up-to-date PVG disclosure.
Working Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week @ £9.75 per hour

Nursery Cook
As one of a team of two cooks at Rodger Drive our Nursery Cook will ideally hold a relevant food hygiene certificate, have a working knowledge of Cooksafe or similar and experience of cooking in a care/retail environment.
Responsibilities for the role include –
Working as part of a professional team
Preparing food to a pre-planned weekly menu
Adapting for children with allergies and providing pre-agreed alternatives
Following appropriate cook safe procedures to ensure high standards of hygiene and infection control
Distributing food to playroom and collecting dishes afterwards
Cleaning kitchen at end of shift
Successful candidates will be required to register with SSSC and have an up-to-date PVG disclosure.
Working Monday to Friday, 25 hours per week @ £9.70 per hour
