I am really looking forward to this one! My first time in Manchester too. Workshop and performance coming your way, and I can't wait to meet everyone who will be there 😍
Thanks for having me Matt and Andy!
Coming up in October, a first in a series of Ukulele Citybreaks.
We have a really cool venue at Lock 91 in Manchester (a former lock-keeper's residence), with workshops and performances from Warehouse of Thieves, Ukulele Saz and Marc Gallagher, plus Tim Smithies and his famous Late Night Speakeasy, with its music, magic, comedy and general mayhem!
It takes place on Friday evening (16 October) and all day Saturday until late. With all of the restaurants and hotels of central Manchester on your doorstep. Tickets are £99, with all workshops / gigs / playalongs included.

At the weekend we entered the magical kingdom that is Findhorn. It was a great weekend, with Jo and I both getting out to deliver workshops, lead jams and host the open mic too. I was so proud of Jo going out and delivering a series of 4 beginner workshops, and then having her students perform at the final charity concert! The feedback from these were excellent, and I am not surprised, Jo smashed it!
I had the more experienced players, and it was brilliant having everyone up to perform at the concert too, and even have folks plugged in to play alongside us on stage, that was super fun.
I loved performing too, I used my stomp pedal for the first time and it was a fun edition I’ll be using loads more going forward. I really enjoyed playing some original songs for everyone again too.
I realised I barely took any photos this year, so hopefully more will pop up soon that I can share!
As always, it is just lovely being able to catch up with so many people at the festivals, see familiar faces and meet new ones too, seeing uke groups grow and evolve with each event, and just be part of such a lovely community of people. Jo and I loved being part of it all and spending time with so many great people.
Thank you Ken and Susie, and everyone who puts the festival together, it is no easy feat that is for sure!

What a lovely weekend!
I just wanted to take the time to thank everyone at for making Jo and I feel so welcomed.
We had a truly great time, and I loved meeting so many new people and catching up with others I hadn’t seen for a while. It was a great event throughout the weekend and gave me lots of ideas and inspiration coming back to Glasgow.
And this week, we are off to Findhorn.. so we’re in the middle of the madness to the moment. I have lots to share with you all over coming weeks so stay tuned, it’s all super exciting 😍😍😍

I really loved running this workshop yesterday!
What a great bunch of folks, all super enthusiastic and we had a good laugh too!
4 part arrangement of Chasing Cars, all broken down, and then put back together again. By the end of the hour we could play it in 4 different ways, in a group… and… we even performed it at the concert 🤪
This is what I love to do, bring a bunch of people together and make people feel confident that they CAN do things that may seem a little challenging. Seeing everyone smiling and even practising what we worked on after the workshop was just brilliant to see!
A full update on Skerries coming tomorrow 😍
