What a lovely weekend!

I just wanted to take the time to thank everyone at for making Jo and I feel so welcomed.

We had a truly great time, and I loved meeting so many new people and catching up with others I hadn’t seen for a while. It was a great event throughout the weekend and gave me lots of ideas and inspiration coming back to Glasgow.

And this week, we are off to Findhorn.. so we’re in the middle of the madness to the moment. I have lots to share with you all over coming weeks so stay tuned, it’s all super exciting 😍😍😍

I really loved running this workshop yesterday!

What a great bunch of folks, all super enthusiastic and we had a good laugh too!

4 part arrangement of Chasing Cars, all broken down, and then put back together again. By the end of the hour we could play it in 4 different ways, in a group… and… we even performed it at the concert 🤪

This is what I love to do, bring a bunch of people together and make people feel confident that they CAN do things that may seem a little challenging. Seeing everyone smiling and even practising what we worked on after the workshop was just brilliant to see!

A full update on Skerries coming tomorrow 😍

The Easiest Way To Play "Valerie" On Ukulele | Step-By-Step Tutorial 29/05/2026

This weeks video!
A song I hear lots of ukulele groups play, but rarely hear with the upbeat feel that it needs to create the energy of the song!
Instead, I hear the same old, aimless strum that make it feel a little stale and flat.
Want to bring some life back into the song?
Well, In this easy, step by step video.. I show you how to create that flowing, bouncy rhythm.

It’s all about the strumming pattern ! It’s not about ‘what’ you strum but HOW you strum it! Most of us forget just how important the rhythm is as we focus so much on the chords.

Learn the chords, rhythms and progressions, Build some muscle memory, lock it down, and have fun playing this song with the upbeat feel that it so deserves 😍

The Foundation 5: What Every Ukulele Leader Should Play First 22/05/2026

If your ukulele group feels like it has stagnated a little, or you are thinking of starting a ukulele group, I have something to share with you..

Song choice MATTERS, it curates the culture of your group, sets the tone, and when done right, can really build some collective confidence in your group, draw in a wider age range and ability level, and keeps them, engaged, motivated, and hungry for more.. no matter where they are in their ukulele journey!

I share with you the first 5 songs from my group, Southside Strummers , when we first started, to what 5 songs I’d choose now and WHY! The thing is, it’s not just about the songs.. it’s HOW you choose the songs..

Curious… watch it and let me know what you think.. I’d love to hear what your top 5 would be after watching the video

P.S. If you want a printable breakdown of this strategy to keep in your gig bag, I’ve left a link to the companion E-book inside the video description! ☀️☯️

It was nice to visit such a chirpy bunch of ukulele players on a Monday afternoon!

Yesterday I travelled through to Dumbarton and delivered a really fun session, exploring a new song I wasn’t too familiar with (but I loved the challenge!)

It’s really rewarding to help groups look at their approach to learning songs differently, by showing them methods they can use and implement to really help the overall sound and quality of their groups, and include ways for EVERYONE, no matter the level, to be involved, learn, and grow in confidence

I have a good few groups all pencilled in this year, and now even into next year too, in 2027🤯

If you’d like to book me for a workshop, to help your ukulele group make the most of their sessions, and explore ways to improve, drop me a message or email. My calendar seems to be fast filling up which is crazy, but I am feeling very grateful🫶🏼

I am SO buzzing for this one, I can’t wait to go to Bristol, meet some lovely people I’ve only ever met online, and perform with my band Katabatic Bloom 😍😍😍

Come to my workshop and we’ll make breaking down the riffs you love, nice and easy 🤪

Teenage Kicks (The Undertones) - Your First SUPER EASY Ukulele Song 15/05/2026

Here's this week's Youtube video. It's aimed at beginners, but I also think it highlights how I like to break down songs.

It's an easy song, with a step by step method on how to build in chord changes, chord progressions, rhythm, and bringing it all together.

If you are in a ukulele group, this is a GREAT song to learn off book too! It'll get the crowd going and the energy will be high as you belt it out :)
