As I'm sure most of you are aware I tend to refer to Reflexology as a "nervous system reset". Most people take this as it's deeply relaxing and you get an amazing sleep afterwards but this may not always be the case.
A recent client came for their first ever Reflexology session and found it really relaxing and soothing but they pretty much ended up scrubbing their home from top to bottom in the 24 hours after their treatment. Yes that's still a nervous system reset. It gave her the energy and motivation that she needed.
Our bodies are magnificent and when soothed allows us to function better.
So the moral of this story is be prepared. Bodywork can give you what you need and not necessarily what you think you want. 😂
Absolute bonus is I get to teach this to others.

A few weeks ago I was invited to share Reiki with Turning point Scotland (Mental health and Huntington's team).
It was a lovely afternoon with everyone feeling chilled and refreshed.
Big thanks to the team for inviting me to be part of their Mental health awareness week.

Massage and body work treatments are NOT a LUXURY.
We as a society need to really take a look at what we see as a luxury because if being kind to yourself, taking care of yourself or actively seeking to improve your health or wellbeing is a luxury then the world is all wrong.
These are basics of self-care.
Massage and bodywork such as KCR can help reduce physical and emotional stress, improve blood and lymph circulation, support waste removal, support the heart and nervous system, improve range of motion and quite literally support overall wellbeing.
You know where to find me when you are ready to really step up and take care of you.

Thinking out loud here so stick with me if you can and please do tell me your thoughts on this...
So as most people will know I'm fully into peri menopause which has brought a few interesting extras. Most have been dealt with by using HRT but one that hasn't been is my moustache. 😂
Little did I realise that at 42 I would be developing a tash. 🥸
So that got me thinking. I mean I really can't be stoating around with a full on tash. I decided waxing would be the easiest option but no-one on my building offers this service.
It's never been something that's interested me but with my own fuzziness it's got me thinking.
Should I add waxing into my therapy menu?
Genuinely wanting feedback on if you all think it's something I should be adding.

How gorgeous is this???
One of my lovely clients gifted this to me. It was rather funny as during our session the topic of love kept creeping in and she gifted me wax melts in love scent.
is all natural, essential oils are used and they smell divine.
Pop over and give them a wee like.

A year ago today I signed a lease for a new treatment space in Easterhouse. And what a year it's been.
I moved into my new space in July. Met lots of wonderful new people and organisations who are now my neighbours and friends.
I started teaching massage for Natural Touch Training. Who's courses and manuals are so in depth and wonderful.
I moved into a different office space within the building as it worked better for me.
I became single again. 😂 It may not have been my choice at the time but I can breathe again in my personal life, without constant worry over the health or behaviour of another person.
Life is funny. We don't know exactly what is in front of us but we still move forward. Life is always evolving and can change in a heartbeat.
So every now and again we should all stop, reflect and enjoy the good moments.

It's been a wee while since I did a wee intro to me so here we go ...
Hi, I'm Julie the soul behind Realign and Revive (therapies and training academy). I'm 42 years old and have a son who's 25 years old. We have one cat called Indy (Indigo, Chi Chi, pretty kitty plus a whole load of other things that would probably get me barred from social media so I won't add those 😂).
We live in Coatbridge but my studio space is in the Eastend of Glasgow. It's a great community space with other small businesses and charities all under one roof. I love a wee collaboration.
I have been a qualified Complementary healthcare practitioner for nearly 2 decades and love that I get to help people find balance in their lives, reset their nervous systems and reduce their pain. But my interest was peaked in my childhood when I collected the Mind, body and Spirit magazine. So this is very much a life long passion.
I offer a variety of different treatments from KCR to Aromatherapy to Therapists choice. I have treatments that suit so many different ailments and if you are unsure that's when I would recommend the Therapist's Choice.
Therapists choice takes the pressure off you to decide what treatment would be best for your needs. You tell me what's going on and I will choose for you and in most cases create a little package just for you from my wealth of knowledge and experience.
I see people of any gender as for me being a female only service just wouldn't work. I believe everyone deserves the opportunity to have a fabulous treatment and be taken care of.
As I have a huge wealth of knowledge and experience I decided that it was only right to share this with my fellow therapists and future therapists so I decided to add teaching to my schedule. (If you want to see my vast qualifications then there is a list in the about me section of my website or you can ask to see my folder when you are in for a visit.)
If you have any questions please do feel free to ask.

A wee reminder of the provisional KCR et al training dates in Glasgow.
KCR is our foundation training course which everything else within the KCR Academy is built onto.
KCR can be taught to existing therapists but can also be taught to those just entering the body work world. It's a phenomenal starter course which many people have undertaken to help their loved ones or to start a new career.
KCR was the treatment that made me really understand what I was actually doing as a therapist.
