Today is our last day together and it is time to say goodbye and many things have gone through my mind but now when the actual moment has arrived, I cant think of anything else except two words “Thank you”.
We can not tell you how enriching the last 15 years have been here at Cowglen and many more at Ardlaw Street. The children and families have been a great source of motivation and the biggest inspiration and support to the staff and helped shape their roles in a successful way.
It has been a great pleasure to have your little ones in the nursery, to see their personalities grow day to day and how they have developed in their learning. We have laughed, played , learned, cried and enriched both their lives and ours over the years which we will cherish.
The children have laughed when they have made silly mistakes, cried when they have bumped their heads, cared for each other when moving rooms and been that little smile for when they have been sad and not to mention how that smile can brighten up the staffs day, however one of the most special things they give are massive hugs……..this just melts your heart!
Many of our families have been with us for years and some have just joined us recently, during this time we have had some lovely messages, you have said how much you have appreciated the care that we have provided and how we have shaped your childs life. But one of the most heartfelt message was how you see us “as your extended family”
We just wanted to say that we know the children and families will be friends for life and they will share their dreams together, and though we’re off to different worlds and different journeys, somehow we’re together……because deep within our hearts……these memories over the years are made forever.

Last week in the babyroom we explored Halloween and Autumn experiences, the children enjoyed exploring around the garden to look for Pumpkins and leaves.
We got creative by using pumpkin cutters to print marks onto paper, paint leaves and glue leaves onto the paper.
The children explored using touch and feeling the texture of the spooky spaghetti and pumpkins

In the Babyroom we have been exploring our 5 senses, we have been focusing on touch and taste by exploring porridge oats, sand and jelly.
We have begun taking part in some Halloween experiences making spiders using egg cartons and building a tower using pumpkins.
The children have been showing a keen interest in climbing and rolling objects. We brought out the climbing frame to help with their gross motor skills and we will explore rolling different objects.

The Babyroom have been enjoying the summer period learning all about sea creatures like fishes and crabs which can be found if you are down the local beaches.
They have been doing a variety of creative experiences from painting hands, sand pictures and rainbow fish which has enabled them to develop their fine motor skills and vocabulary skills.
They have discovered a variety of sea creatures like whales, crabs, jelly fish and shells, playing with them in the water, adding jelly to provide a different texture and stimulate our senses.
On the sunny days we are outside with our sun cream and hats on to enjoy the weather, get lots of fresh air and and splash about in the puddling pool.
We have been working on the sensory room with some nice new wood resources, so please have a look on the way past and we also welcome a couple of new children into the room this week.

In the Babyroom this week we have been busy having some summer fun and sensory experiences to promote our fine and gross motor skills, language and imagination.
We had lots of fun during messy play with a variety of textures like soil, water, sand and painting our hands.
We have created a new beach wall, decorating with tissue paper, sand paper, summer cloths, rainbow fish and even had our own wee beach party in the garden, where we had snack and splashed in the paddling pool.
