Road closures

From Showbie

I was contacted late this afternoon by GCC Roads Department to inform me of the closure of Crosstobs Road from tomorrow morning Wednesday 26th until Friday 28th August. The road will be closed from Kempsthorn Road to Brockburn Road. I have been advised that the works will start at 9.15am tomorrow morning to allow us access to the P1-3 gate. However, I have been told that there will be no access to this area at 3pm tomorrow and possibly not on Thursday or Friday.


We have put the following plan is in place:


Wednesday Morning – drop off as usual


Wednesday Afternoon – P1-3 parents and carers to enter the upper staff car park and walk across the playground towards the round benches/bike shed. All P1-3 classes will be dismissed from here. Parents and carers should leave the playground via the upper staff car park.


P4, P5 & P6 will be dismissed from the P6 door and will go out of their usual gate.


P7 pupils will exit from the back of the hall and out their usual gate.


I am expecting a visit from the Contacts Manager at some point tomorrow to give me an update on the rest of the week.


Staff will be in the playground to assist, I ask that you are patient as it will take longer than normal to dismiss the children from school.
