The children have been observing the life cycle of a caterpillar to a butterfly over the last two weeks and have shown a large amount of interest. The children have been learning about the four stages of the process, starting off as an egg, turning in to the larva (caterpillar), forming a cocoon and then eventually a butterfly.
We all enjoyed a Bookbug Session incorporating The Very Hungry Caterpillar by Eric Carle 📘🐛

We have been learning the life cycle of a butterfly. This is a powerful, hands-on way to teach children about growth, change, and the natural world and care for living things, developing scientific curiosity, and providing rich vocabulary (e.g., metamorphosis, chrysalis) through direct observation.
