Our online learners were really looking forward to the opportunity to meet in person, and we had a wonderful afternoon! We met for lunch (thank you to Cafe Wander for making us so welcome!) and then Councillor Lana Reid McConnell met us to show us around the City Chambers and tell us about her work.

We also enjoyed a exhibition of some local school pupils' work on the theme of embedding multilingualism into Learning for Sustainability.

We are looking forward to watching the redevelopment of George Square taking shape after seeing the plans! Glasgow has such a rich history of civic involvement and public service...it was good to be in this beautiful building and learn more.

Today we say a HUGE thankyou to Edith, Ife and Fatou who finished their posts as Admin Volunteers today! Thank goodness it's not goodbye...

Edith, Ife and Fatou have done so much for the organisation with their time and skills and we are so grateful. Good luck and blessings for your next steps, wonderful women! πŸ‘πŸ₯°πŸ†

Using the Place Planning Tool, our community partners at Sanctuary Housing Scotland have been working with Aileas and the learners in Toryglen to map the area! The session included discussion about natural spaces and places for social interaction, pooling learners' knowledge and sharing information for community welcome packs. A great idea!

Aileas will be working with our volunteer interpreters to follow-up on the session.

Happy Nowruz to all our learners celebrating today 🍎🌱🌸

Nowruz literally means β€œnew day” - a time of new beginnings, hope and fresh starts. This is more complex than ever this year. Wishing all our learners who mark the Persian new year, and their families, peace and safety.
