Early Year’s funding applications are open with East Dunbartonshire Council for academic year 2022-23. If you are looking to send your child to Westerton Nursery from August 2022 please email [email protected] to check availability.

We only have a couple of places available for next academic year and 2023-24 is also filling up.

You must secure a place directly with us before applying for funding.

An update in relation to early years places and the reopening of early years centres will be issued later this month once further guidance has been provided by Scottish Government. In the meantime, our Early Years Hubs are continuing to provide childcare for the children of key workers and other children who require support. We are developing plans for the reopening of schools and early years centres in line with Scottish Government guidance, following yesterday's (21 May) announcement. We are aware that there will be lots of questions on the detail and more information on these plans will be issued to parents and carers by the end of next week.

Letters allocating placing requests to East Dunbartonshire schools are now being issued. Parents will receive an email or a posted letter if we don't have an email address. If you wish to appeal a decision, information relating to placing request appeals is available on our website. Visit https://crowd.in/vIq7Ea

If you're waiting to hear about a placing request, you'll get an email or letter (if we don't have your email address) later this week. The letters for places in secondary schools will be issued on Thursday 21 May and the letters for places in Primary Schools will be issued on Friday 22 May. Information will be published on the Council website in relation to placing request appeals by close of play on Friday 22 May and we'll share the link to that page once it is live. Thank you for your understanding as we work through the placing request process in these challenging times.
