It’s been a little bit quiet on here, and that’s because I’ve been super busy up in Bathgate playing Princess Thistle in their Pantomime “Oor Aladdin”! It’s been the most amazing experience getting to spend Christmas with such a phenomenal company, but thrilled to be getting back to teaching!

E V E H A R V E Y - A C T R E S S

While I am working on RENT as an Assistant Director and Vocal Coach, I get the opportunity to work with some fantastic singers and actors. And Eve Harvey is no exception! We had a fantastic time during a working session in rehearsals on her big solo number, Out Tonight!

I made this little video depicting the highlights of our mini session, as we went through the song, focussing on her stamina, and then we identified some more prominent areas that felt insecure and fixed placement and experimented with different exercises to help Eve find that perfect sound that suits the song and is comfy and easy for her!

I’m sure you’ll agree, that Eve perfectly demonstrates phenomenal work here, an openness to learn and try new things, but also taking ownership of her own body and voice, letting me know as a Coach what isn’t working so we can work together to find another way in! Since this session, Eve has worked super hard, and watching her progress throughout rehearsals has been nothing short of wonderful - I am so very excited for people to see her and the rest of her cast shining on stage! Just a joy working with this brilliant lot!

RENT is on at the East Kilbride Village Theatre from Oct 2nd - 5th, so please do get your tickets, it’s not one to miss! M I A M C L A U G H L I N - S T U D E N T

Yesterday I was back in the room with Mia McLaughlin and we decided to tackle a style that Mia has been nervous to sing, but bravely requested herself - LEGIT MUSICAL THEATRE!

Here is a little edited video of some highlights of our lesson (featuring our faves Daniel Craig and Simon Cowell 😂), and as you can hear, this girl can SING! Despite being nervous, her confidence and willingness to try new things has improved immensely, and I’m sure you’ll agree, Mia has proven she is a beautiful Soprano!

She learned this song throughout the session, and I couldn’t be more proud of her. It already sounds amazing so it’s just going to get better and better! Since beginning work with Mia, she has blossomed, and continues to day by day! Mia’s confidence in the audition room has only moved from strength to strength, and soon she’ll be performing in Movies to Musicals‘ production of Les Miserables this September! GO MIA!!

So much joy and laughter and beautiful singing, as always with Mia! And so lovely to be back in the room with you again!❤️

P A T R I C K D I N E E N - A C T O R

A few weeks ago, we had a great time prepping actor Patrick Dineen in a zoom accent session for an upcoming audition for a movie!🎬

Patrick did some fantastic work looking at accent placement, tediously working through every vowel sound and looking at the intonation of the accent all to help him create a convincing performance. He has worked so hard, and we have everything crossed for him!🤞🏻
