All systems go in our Volunteer Gardening and Conservation sessions at the The Children's Wood and Meadow!

We’re enjoying the last of last year’s harvest in the community garden while preparing the raised beds for spring planting; Aerobin hot compost bins are heating up and giving us rich black compost; meadow seed mixes are establishing well.

Our current session times:

Twilight Tuesdays 5-8pm (until end August)
Wednesdays & Fridays 12-3pm

Big thanks to James Hughes and the team at Ocean Displays on Seaward Street in Kinning Park for the kind donation of some tree cuttings we can use to protect the children’s wood’s understorey from footfall and allow it to regenerate.

⚡️💥Dear community💚 The Children’s Wood is looking for a new (or new to us) wheelbarrow. We assume that there must be unused wheelbarrows sitting gathering dust in peoples’ sheds/ gardens/ allotments…? If you have one, keen to go to a superb project- send it over to us!! 🐝🪱🐞
