Yesterday our fashion department welcomed Janet Hansen from Trades House of Glasgow to launch the Incorporation of Tailors 500 year anniversary competition.

Students are to design a jacket that has a fresh, innovative approach to modern dressing and tailoring. Fabric has been donated by Locharron of Scotland for use in their designs.

Our Civil Engineering course is a fantastic way to get hands on experience, from surveying and setting out to practical project work, site visits and more.

Hear from Craig Fay, the Curriculum Manager, about the course and his background as a qualified civil and structural engineer.

Huge congratulations to our Refrigeration and Air Conditioning students Martin Oates (CPA Engineered Solutions Ltd) and Kian Ferns (Technical Retail Services Ltd)

The pair recently competed at the WorldSkills UK Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Qualifier at Installer SHOW in Birmingham, putting their technical and practical skills to the test against talented learners from across the UK.

Martin and Kian have secured two of the final six places nationally!

They’ll now head to Cardiff this November to compete in the WorldSkills UK National Final.

What an achievement! We’re incredibly proud of you both and can’t wait to see how you get on in the final. 👏
