As an applied mathematician at the University of Glasgow and the University of Strathclyde, Dr Joseph Cousins is applying his skills to investigate the behaviour of liquid crystals. The amazing thing about maths is it gives you a deeper insight into how the world works. Where could a maths degree take you? What could you achieve as a mathematician?
