Distinctive Dance Academy is a community focused organisation driving to promote health and wellbeing in the community through performing arts. Our ethos is to help people in local communities: to achieve their goals; develop confidence in their abilities; and to improve fitness and wellbeing for all. We aim to instil a thirst for knowledge and a desire to learn in the young individuals we work wi

th. We achieve this by creating a safe, fun, environment where individuals can express themselves through performing arts, and gain exposure to the endless possibilities education can offer. We provide opportunities for students, parents, friends and family all to be included in our events that take us to many wonderful occasions in Glasgow. Our family focussed environment, aims to create positive change within the areas in which we operate, with educational development at the core of our organisational values.

💃✨ WE’RE BACK WITH ANOTHER FUN-FILLED WORKSHOP! ✨💃

Distinctive Dance Academy are so excited to announce that, thanks to the amazing support and partnered with Give it a Go Glasgow, we are able to bring you the MOST FUN DANCE CLASS EVER! 🥳

You asked… we listened… and now we’re delivering! 🙌

🎉 A COMPLETELY FREE DANCE & WELLBEING WORKSHOP! 🎉

If your dancer is aged 8–11 years, come along and enjoy a fun-packed 3-hour session filled with dancing, games, creativity, confidence-building, wellbeing activities and LOTS of fun! 💕✨

We’ll be bringing you a mixture of:

-Tap
-Lyrical
-Freestyle
-Cheer
-TikTok dances & trending routines
-Fun dance games & challenges
-Dance technique & across-the-floor work
-Flexibility & stretching
-Wellbeing topics & activities

🌟 16 Years of Dance, Dedication & Dreams! 🌟
Around 16 years ago, Distinctive Dance Academy had its opening night, and a young girl arrived with a huge smile, bags of enthusiasm and a real eagerness to learn. That young girl was Skye. 💕💃

From that very first night, Skye has embraced every opportunity that came her way — every exam, show, event, class and challenge. She has listened to and taken on every bit of feedback, completed her dance homework, volunteered, helped at classes and given so much of herself to our dance school over the years.

And today… we couldn’t be prouder! 🥹❤️

Skye is now a qualified dance teacher, has just completed her Nursing Degree, is a valued member of our Distinctive Dance Academy Board, AND now has her very own class at Fuse Shettleston every Wednesday! 🌟

What an incredible journey — from that enthusiastic little girl at our opening night to the amazing young woman and teacher she is today. We are so incredibly proud of you, Skye! ❤️

A massive thank you must also go to Skye’s amazing mum, Nicola, and her family, who have been her biggest cheerleaders throughout her entire dance journey. They have always supported Skye, supported our school, helped out whenever needed and now continue the tradition by bringing along Skye’s little sister, Billi. 🥰

We would absolutely love for you to support Skye and her new class at Fuse Shettleston every Wednesday. Come along, get involved and help us support the next chapter of Skye’s amazing dance journey! 💃✨

What a great first week back! 💃🏼🩷

Monday classes, our brand new Wednesday flexibility class and Sunday gymnastics — it’s been a busy one! 🥰 We’ve loved welcoming back so many familiar faces and meeting lots of new ones too! 🫶🏼

We’ve also officially started our exam work, so there’s lots of exciting things ahead! ✨

Our 2026 Annual Showcase was one to remember! ✨💙

A huge thank you to every dancer, family, teacher, volunteer, and supporter who made this year's showcase such a special celebration. We are so proud of every single performer who took to the stage with confidence, passion, and joy.

We're also incredibly grateful to Newbould Creative for generously supporting our chosen charity and for capturing the beautiful moments from the day. Your kindness, talent, and support have helped us preserve memories that we'll treasure for years to come.

Together, we celebrated dance, community, and giving back—and we couldn't have done it without you all.

💜 Join Distinctive Dance Academy! 💜

We welcome students from age 3 right through to adults – and the best part? Your classes are free, we just ask you to donate if you can, no obligation.

📍 Classes available:
🩰 Sunday & Monday – Parkhead
🩰 Wednesday – Shettleston

At Distinctive Dance Academy, we offer so much more than dance. Our students:
⭐ Build confidence and self-belief
⭐ Learn important wellbeing topics every week
⭐ Make lifelong friendships
⭐ Stay active while having fun in a supportive environment

🎓 Every December, students have the opportunity to take BATD exams and gain recognised dance qualifications.

🌟 Every June/July, all students can perform in our exciting Annual Showcase, creating memories they'll never forget!

💃 Our adult classes are mixed ability, so whether you've danced before or are a complete beginner, you'll be welcomed by a fantastic group of adults who love to dance, laugh, make friends and keep fit together.

If you’d like to join our Wednesday Junior 2 class, we are now operating a waiting list, so please get in touch to add your name.

💃 Looking for a new hobby? Want to build confidence, make new friends, and learn exciting new dance skills? We’d love to welcome you to the DDA family!

✨ All of our classes are FREE to attend. We simply welcome voluntary donations at each class to help us continue providing this free service to our community.
