Intensive Play Weekend

A huge welcome to our new Access Course students who have traveled from across Scotland to be with us. We’re excited to be working with you all. Today saw the start of our Intensive Play Weekend kicking off session 2026/27 with lots of fun.

Fair Access started our Partner Schools project this week as part of our Outreach programme and have visited:

⭐️ St Roch’s in Glasgow
⭐️ Govan High in Glasgow
⭐️ St Paul’s in Glasgow
⭐️ Notre Dame in Inverclyde
⭐️ Ending the week at St Peter the Apostle in West Dunbartonshire

We’ve loved meeting and chatting with every one of you and excited to continue this work throughout the year.

Join us this term in either Glasgow at the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland or in Greenock at the Beacon Arts Centre for:

▪️Forum Theatre Techniques for Exploring Sensitive Topics
▪️Accessible Techniques for Creative Composition

These workshops will:

▪️ Give you space to explore new ways of working
▪️ Invigorate your creative practice
▪️ Share fresh ideas to put into action, wherever you work
▪️ Build your network of educators and artists

Our new SCQF Level 6 credit-rated course for S5 & S6 Pupils and those aged 16+

Are you passionate about pursuing a career in the Creative Industries and Community Arts Sector? Apply to Conservatoire Foundations to find out what it really takes, and how we can help you do it.

• Running from September 2026 to March 2027
• Tuesdays and Thursdays 2 - 4pm at a Glasgow City Centre venue
• For S5 or S6 pupils or those aged 16 when the course begins
• Gain 30 credits at SCQF Level 6, accredited by RCS

☀️ What We Did This Summer
🗺️ National Community Project: Shetland

Fair Access and staff from the BA Arts with Community programme travelled to Mareel, to co-lead Artivism Workshops, in partnership with Shetland Arts and local artists.

This short film features Playwright, Director and Lecturer Nicola McCartney, Director of Creativity and Impact at Shetland Arts Catriona Macdonald and Shetland Artists Amy Colvin and Joy Duncan.

☀️ What We Did This Summer
🗺️ National Community Project: Wick and Thurso

This summer, one of the projects we loved working on was working with the staff from the BA Arts with Community programme to travel to Wick and Thurso, to co-lead workshops, in partnership with Lyth Arts Centre and a local artist.

Watch our short film that features BA Arts with Community Lecturer Lauren Hall, Engagement and Participation Manager at Lyth Arts Helen Moore and Local Artist Aimee Lockwood.
