🎉 SALTIRE SCHOLARS CLASS OF 2026 🎉
This week, we brought together our Saltire Scholars Programme Class of 2026 for two Send-Off Celebrations in Glasgow and Edinburgh ahead of internships starting this summer.
Over the next few months, nearly 200 students from across Scotland will be heading off to internships across Scotland, the UK, Australia, Canada and the USA 🌍
The nights were all about celebrating the hard work that got everyone to this point, meeting fellow scholars, making new connections, and getting excited for everything still to come this summer.
And if you’re still in our 2026 Candidate Pool - don’t worry, internship matching is still continuing 👀 More opportunities are still to come, so keep checking the portal and keep applying.

Tomorrow, we’ll be bringing together our 2026 Saltire Scholars cohort for not one, but two Send-Off Celebrations taking place simultaneously in Glasgow and Edinburgh 🎉
These events are a chance for scholars to come together with fellow interns, alumni and university partners to celebrate all of the hard work that’s gone into securing their summer internships - and all of the exciting experiences still to come this summer.
From assessment centres and applications to interviews and internship matching, it’s been a huge journey already, and tomorrow is all about recognising that achievement and building connections before internships begin.
And for those still in our 2026 Candidate Pool - this is not the end of internship recruitment. We’ll continue matching students with opportunities over the coming weeks, so keep checking the portal, keep applying, and stay tuned for more roles to come!

Could you spend your summer with Network Rail just like Miza? 🚆
Last summer, Miza Nasuha, an Economics student at the University of Glasgow, interned with Network Rail Scotland, working on a live project to improve how inspection and reporting is carried out across the rail network.
Her role combined site visits, stakeholder meetings and hands-on problem-solving - including helping improve a digital tool used by Mobile Operations Managers and creating a user guide that teams will continue using beyond her placement.
