Wow here's a blast from the past!
An old pic of me and V in Summer 2022, horsing around with lazy moves for "Lazy Yoga" on a hot summer day way back when we first moved in to the studio, and "Mango Studio" identity was just at twinkle in the eye! 🥭
This pic shows just how much Thai Yoga massage benefits the giver as well as the receiver.
I'm getting a great stretch through the calves and hams, and stretching out my back, and V is getting a stretch through the quads and hip flexors, as well as some really deep, yet effortless pressure on just the spot on the back that often gives a right good crack.
If you fancy learning some moves like this one please join us for Thai Yoga Massage – Prone Position – Certificate Course on Sat 9th and Sun 10th May ’26
Suitable for CPD for therapists, and for complete beginners, the weekend is also part of the Thai Yoga massage Diploma pathway.

Thai Yoga Massage - Supine and Sen.
For low back pain the first thing we do is work with the legs, with the client facing up. For some people that's counter intuitive - surely you would lie face down and have work done to you back?
Well, yes, but later on in the session. Offering relaxing, passive mobilisations for the feet, ankles, knees and hips has a relaxing effect on the pelvis.
And guess what! The pelvis is connected to the lumbar spine (Low back), and this begins to relax too!
In fact - in Thai Yoga Massage, we always work with the legs first. It's a great way to begin to relax the whole body. And it helps you get used to your therapist's touch, as well as them getting used to listening to your body's unique needs.
Would you like to learn how to do this? Come and join one of our courses! Great for Yoga Teachers, table-based Massage therapists, or Shiatsu practitioners wanting to try something new. But also for the complete beginner, it can be so rewarding to learn how to offer simple techniques that you can offer friends and family.
