2021 was a jam-packed year of advocating for animals at OneKind. We couldn't have done it without all of you supporting us and taking action. 🧡

Just some of the things we worked on include:

🦊 Continued campaigning for a full ban on foxhunting

▶️ Launch of our Finish Fur campaign to end the sale and import of fur in the UK

🐙 Work on our Sea Their Suffering campaign

🐇 Launch of our Target Zero coalition campaign for a phase out of animal testing in the UK

📢 Marching for the animals and the planet outside COP26

It's National Marine Week! 🐙🐟🦀

This awareness week is a reminder of the plight of crustaceans and cephalopods who have no legal protection despite their sentience.

We welcomed the the UK Government's landmark decision to recognise these animals as sentient in the Animal Welfare (Sentience) Bill. But more work needs to be done, as they have yet to introduce legislation to protect them from suffering.

The Scottish Government is lagging behind - they have yet to legally recognise cephalopods and crustaceans as sentient OR introduce legislation that protects them.

We'll keep raising our voices and urging the Scottish Government to recognise these animals as sentient beings and make sure they are legally protected from suffering.
