The firefighters from Knightswood Fire Station visited the nursery, giving the children an exciting hands-on experience. The children had the opportunity to explore inside a real fire engine and try out some of the firefighters’ safety equipment. They also learned about the different ways firefighters use their firetruck during emergency situations and even had a turn using the hose to practice putting out a fire!

The children have continued their learning about how to care for plants and living things in our environment. This led to an outing to the Glasgow Botanic Gardens where they explored the Kibble Palace.
During our visit, the children had the opportunity to see a wide variety of plants from Scotland and around the world. We talked about what plants need to grow and stay healthy, such as water, sunlight, and care. The children enjoyed observing the different shapes, colours, and sizes of the plants, and were curious about how they are looked after.
