Our screening of The True Cost movie was a big success. 130 people attended and most stayed on for the discussion facilitated by Phil Hanlon and myself. Most people wanted to talk about how shocked and saddened they were by the content of the film but nonetheless they thought it was essential viewing. 'We all need to know this stuff' sums up the views of many who turned up.' We shall publish a full summary of the postcard comments we got from people on the evening in due course. I am going to collate some information on what people can do - i.e. what are the better alternatives for buying clothes. I'll put this together from various sources in the next week or so. Please let us know your suggestions and thoughts. Meanwhile if you couldn't manage to come along to the showing and would like to see the film it is easily available on-line. If you go to http://truecostmovie.com there's a list of available sources - Netflix etc - and how you can rent it for 3 dollars.
The True Cost The True Cost is a feature length documentary film that explores the impact of fashion on people and the planet. Available worldwide today!
Carol's posted a new blog on how we need to rethink subsidies for the 60-65 age group - use the money for bus passes for young people.
