What an incredible week we've had celebrating our wonderful School Leavers of 2026! πŸ’™

As our children prepared to begin their exciting journey to Primary 1, we wanted to make their final week at Treehouse Nursery one they would never forget. Most importantly, this week was all about their ideas, their choices and making their wishes come true.

Our amazing children chose to enjoy exciting cinema days, complete with delicious treats, cosy blankets and their favourite films, creating the perfect movie experience with all of their friends. 🍿🎬

The highlight of the week was our biggest adventure yet – travelling from Uddingston Train Station all the way to Glasgow Central Station!πŸš† The children were full of excitement as they explored their local community, practised staying safe on public transport and enjoyed spotting everything they could from the train windows. For many, it was their very first train journey, making it an unforgettable experience filled with smiles, laughter and lots of curious conversations.

Seeing the excitement on the children's faces reminded us why listening to children's voices is so important. Their ideas helped create a week full of meaningful experiences, lasting friendships and magical memories that they will carry with them as they move on to their next adventure.

A huge thank you goes to our incredible Treehouse Nursery team, whose dedication, enthusiasm and teamwork made every activity possible. We are so proud to have created such a special week for our children and families.

To our amazing School Leavers of 2026, thank you for filling Treehouse Nursery with laughter, kindness and unforgettable moments. We are so proud of each and every one of you and can't wait to see all the wonderful things you'll achieve in Primary 1.

Here's to a week of adventure, celebration and memories that will last a lifetime. πŸ’™πŸŽ“πŸŒŸ

What an unforgettable journey it has been watching each and every one of you grow into confident, kind, curious and capable little learners. From your very first days at Treehouse Nursery to the friendships you've built, the laughter you've shared and the milestones you've achieved, we couldn't be prouder of the amazing children you have become.

To celebrate the end of this special chapter, we enjoyed a fantastic party day filled with music, dancing, games, laughter and lots of smiles. It was the perfect way to celebrate all of your achievements and create one last collection of wonderful memories together before your exciting next adventure begins.

We know that starting school is a huge milestone, and while we will miss your happy faces every day, we are so excited to see where your journeys take you. Keep being brave, keep asking questions, keep believing in yourselves and never stop enjoying learning.

Today, they gave up their Saturday to complete their Paediatric First Aid training, demonstrating their commitment to the safety and wellbeing of our children, families, and staff team.

At the heart of everything we do is creating a safe, nurturing environment where children can learn, play, and thrive. By dedicating their own time to developing these vital lifesaving skills, our team has shown just how passionate they are about providing the very best care, even in emergency situations.

🚰 Pipe Dreams & Big Ideas! πŸ”§

Who knew a collection of unused PVC pipes could unlock so much imagination? 🀩

This week, our 3–5s Room have been exploring the exciting world of loose parts play, transforming everyday plumbing pieces into incredible creations. From winding tunnels and towering structures to pretend telescopes, telephones and all sorts of imaginative inventions, there was no limit to where their creativity could take them!

Loose parts play encourages children to think independently, experiment with different ideas and discover that there isn't just one "right" answer. As they connected, balanced, twisted and rebuilt their designs, they were naturally developing:

🧠 Problem-solving and critical thinking skills
🀝 Teamwork and communication
βœ‹ Fine motor control and hand-eye coordination
πŸ“ Early mathematical concepts such as shape, size, balance and spatial awareness
πŸ’ Creativity and imaginative play

It was wonderful to watch the children share ideas, overcome challenges and proudly show off their unique creations. Sometimes the best learning opportunities come from the simplest materials and today, a handful of pipes became endless possibilities!

We can't wait to see what our little engineers, architects and inventors build next! πŸŒŸπŸ—οΈπŸ’‘

πŸ§ͺ Little Minds, Big Reactions!

Our little scientists have been busy investigating, experimenting and making exciting discoveries using everyday household items! From creating amazing bubbly fountains with dish soap, water and balloons, to watching in amazement as tealight candles and water helped us explore the power of oxygen, every experiment has been full of "WOW!" moments.

The children loved making predictions, asking questions, testing their ideas and observing what happened next. Through these fun, hands-on activities, they have been developing their understanding of cause and effect, building their confidence in problem-solving, expanding their scientific vocabulary and learning that it's okay if an experiment doesn't go as expected: because that's all part of being a scientist! πŸ§‘β€πŸ”¬πŸ‘©β€πŸ”¬

There has been so much excitement, laughter and curiosity as we explored how different materials and ingredients react together. We are so proud of the children's enthusiasm for learning and the wonderful discussions they have shared with one another.

Who knows what our curious little scientists will discover next? We can't wait to find out! πŸŒŸπŸ’‘

πŸŒΏπŸ’š Our amazing little eco-heroes have been busy! πŸ’šπŸŒΏ

This evening, a small group of our 3–5-year-old children proudly supported the local community group Grow Uddingston by helping to clean up our local park. Armed with smiles, bucket for holding the litter collected, and lots of enthusiasm, they worked together to collect litter and help make our community a cleaner, safer place for everyone to enjoy.

We are so proud of the kindness, teamwork, and sense of responsibility they showed throughout the activity. It was a fantastic opportunity to teach the importance of caring for our environment and giving back to our local community, proving that even the smallest hands can make a big difference.

A huge thank you to Grow Uddingston for inspiring our children to help look after the place we all call home. πŸŒβ™»οΈ

🌟 Helping Little Hearts Make a Big Difference 🌟

As part of our "People Who Help Us" theme, our wonderful 3–5-year-olds have been learning that helping isn't just something adults do – children can make a difference too!

To extend our learning, the children enjoyed two very special outings. They visited St John's the Baptist Parish to donate food for those in need and also took donations to our local Tesco Food Collection. These experiences gave the children the opportunity to see first-hand how small acts of kindness can have a big impact on others in our community.

We are incredibly proud of how enthusiastic, caring and compassionate the children were throughout these trips. They have been learning about empathy, kindness and the importance of supporting those who may need a helping hand.

This experience helped teach our children a valuable lesson that we can all play a part in making our community a better place.
