🌕🌑 THIS STURGEON MOON IS NO ORDINARY FULL MOON… 🌑🌕
In the early hours of Friday 28th August, Scotland will experience a powerful Partial Lunar Eclipse under the Full Sturgeon Moon in Pisces.
And just two days later, we gather at the beautiful Tea House on the Loch for our Sturgeon Moon Sound Baths & Half-Day Retreat, right in the heart of that eclipse energy. With MPower Holistics
🌑 SCOTLAND ECLIPSE TIMES – FRIDAY 28TH AUGUST
🌘 2.23am – Penumbral eclipse begins
🌑 3.33am – Partial eclipse begins and Earth’s darker shadow begins moving across the Moon
🌕 5.12am – Maximum eclipse, with around 93% lunar eclipse magnitude
At maximum, the Moon will be sitting low towards the west-southwest, so you’ll need a fairly clear horizon if you’re planning on watching it.
And astrologically, there is A LOT going on with this one.
♓️ THE MOON IN PISCES
Pisces is the final sign of the zodiac.
It is associated with intuition, dreams, spirituality, compassion, surrender and the unseen.
Where Virgo wants to analyse and understand, Pisces asks us to feel.
A Pisces Full Moon can bring emotions that have been sitting beneath the surface into our awareness, sometimes before we completely understand where they have come from.
Eclipses are traditionally associated with culmination, change, release and redirection.
This isn’t necessarily about forcing an ending.
Sometimes it’s simply about finally recognising what we are ready to put down.
🌾 SUN IN VIRGO • MOON IN PISCES
Directly opposite our Pisces Moon sits the Sun in Virgo.
Two very different energies.
🌾 Virgo – facts, organisation, logic, detail, practical action
🌊 Pisces – intuition, emotion, spirituality, surrender, feeling
Head versus heart.
There may be things we can explain perfectly logically and still feel differently about.
Or things we intuitively know even though we can’t quite explain why.
🧠🌙 MERCURY OPPOSITE THE MOON
Mercury is also in Virgo, opposing the Pisces Moon.
Astrologically, this can highlight the relationship between our thoughts and our feelings.
What am I thinking?
What am I actually feeling?
What have I been trying to rationalise?
What does my intuition keep bringing me back to?
Rather than reacting immediately to whatever surfaces, this eclipse invites us to observe.
⚡ URANUS SQUARE THE ECLIPSE
And THIS is the wildcard in the astrology.
Uranus is associated with sudden change, awakening, disruption, liberation and breakthrough.
When Uranus makes a challenging square to an eclipse, astrologers associate it with the unexpected.
⚡ Sudden realisations
⚡ Changes of direction
⚡ Truth coming to the surface
⚡ Breaking old patterns
⚡ Feeling an urge to do something differently
⚡ Finally seeing something from another perspective
🔥 THE EMOTIONAL RULERSHIP LOOP
This is one of the most fascinating parts of this eclipse astrology.
🌙 Moon in Pisces
⬇️
🌊 Ruled by Neptune, retrograde in Aries
⬇️
🔥 Aries is ruled by Mars
⬇️
🌙 Mars is in Cancer, which is ruled by the Moon
And we arrive right back where we started.
Moon → Neptune → Mars → Moon.
Emotion. Intuition. Instinct. Action.
All feeding back into one another.
Mars in Cancer can be emotionally protective and reactive, while Neptune can blur the line between intuition, memory, longing and fear.
So rather than immediately acting on something that rises, this can be an opportunity to slow down, listen and understand what’s underneath it.
❤️ LOVE & RELATIONSHIPS
Pisces and Neptune can bring themes around love, attachment, longing, compassion and idealisation into focus.
There can be a difference between loving someone and holding onto something.
Between intuition and wishful thinking.
Between what we hoped something would become and what it actually is.
For some, this eclipse may feel like connection.
For others, release.
And sometimes those two things are not opposites.
💰 MONEY, WORK & PRACTICAL LIFE
The Pisces/Virgo axis reminds us to balance intuition with reality.
Dream, absolutely.
But look at the numbers.
Read the paperwork.
Check the details.
Try not to make big decisions purely from an emotional reaction.
♈️♋️♎️♑️ MARS SIGNS TO WATCH
Aries and Cancer placements may feel the Mars themes strongly, with Libra and Capricorn also part of the cardinal cross.
♓️♍️♊️♐️ ECLIPSE SIGNS TO WATCH
Pisces, Virgo, Gemini and Sagittarius placements around 0°–9° may experience the eclipse themes particularly strongly, especially placements close to 4°.
And remember, this isn’t only your Sun sign.
Look at your:
☀️ Sun
🌙 Moon
⬆️ Rising/Ascendant
💗 Venus
🔥 Mars
The house containing 4° Pisces in your birth chart can give another layer to where themes of culmination, release or redirection may be showing themselves.
🌕🌑 AND THEN… SUNDAY.
Just two days after the eclipse, we gather at the Tea House on the Loch.
Not weeks later when the moment has passed.
Right there, while the Full Moon and eclipse energy is still fresh.
Sunday gives us the space to step away from the noise and work with whatever this Full Moon has brought to the surface.
Sound.
Meditation.
Chakra alignment.
Release.
Reflection.
And time to listen to what your own mind, body and intuition have been trying to tell you.
🌕🤍 And tonight, I’ll be preparing something special for each of you attending on Sunday, with Moonstone placed beneath the Full Moon to charge in its light and eclipse energy before it comes with me to the loch.
🌿 MORNING SOUND BATH
Only a couple of spaces remain.
🌿 AFTERNOON HALF-DAY RETREAT
For those who want to go deeper, our afternoon together gives us more time for meditation, chakra cleansing and alignment, sound, cord cutting, grounding and reflection beside the loch.
With an eclipse centred so strongly around themes of emotion, intuition, culmination and release, I couldn’t think of a more beautiful weekend for it.
Sometimes we don’t need to immediately decide what the next chapter is.
Sometimes we just need to become quiet enough to realise we’ve already finished the last one. 🌑🌕
