I was saddened to hear of the passing of my old London Road and Riverside class mate Stevie Coulter. Stevie was a bit of a lad who forever getting myself and our other pal George Gaddi into all sorts of situations in our schooldays and as young adults back in the day. Some great memories of Stevie and one memorable Fair Weekend at Rothesay...where we spent the night in the local police cell. Voluntarily, as we had no money left and had missed the last ferry back to the mainland. Sleep well Stevie Boy and make sure you get some Roostering done behind those pearly gates.

I am hearing that Mr.Dalziel who was at Rivvy and later headmaster of Eastbank Academy has died.

Interest seems to have fallen by the wayside a wee bit on the Riverside board/s in the last few months. May I suggest that we get some kind of working group together to see how we can take the forum forward. Anyone interested in getting involved please let me know asap so we can arrange a suitable time and meeting place that suits us all.🧐

Ok folks after several years of talking about it...we have taken the decision to start up a former Rivvy pupils social club. It will be in the Oak Bar Lounge, 770 Springfield Road, Parkhead on alternate Fridays if enough people are interested. Let me know your thoughts on this asap so a decision can be made re the possibility of it happening.

Nice to meet up with Joanne Morrison former Rivvy and Parkhead girl in Auctioneers yesterday to pass on her Rivvy mug. Her son Mark is a proper gentleman as well. Good chat about schooldays and Parkhead. Loved it, Joanne, we must do it more often.

Ok folks very little has been happening on the Rivvy front as of late so I guess it is time to ask if anyone else would like to get involved and becoming an active member of the committee. We are still trying to get the Dux Board returned to the east end and in place by March or April of 2017 but there are still several issues which need to be dealt with before it is safely returned to it's rightful place.

I recently had a meeting with Helen Craig and Karen Faulkner and they suggest that we could arrange a regular bi-monthly karaoke in a nearby hostelry if there were enough people interested. Thoughts and ideas on this please.

We still have Riverside mugs for sale at £6 if anyone is interested...we have decided to post them out as well in the UK which is £9 includes postage and packaging.

Hoping to have the School Dux Board returned to the east end soon...
